  1. You have some special stuff there. Sorry for being rude it just seemed the way you were talking you didn't know much about them.
  2. Which one would you recommend for a weedy lake? I know he makes the weedless mission fish, but does it go through weeds easily?
  3. Regarding you're other comment about my post I didn't put "s" in front of swimbait either :') (I have no earthly idea on how to do that smirk face you do haha). Never said it was an argument either. Just trying to explain to you something about swimbaits which you know nothing of(what it seems like). I'm not saying I know a lot about them, just a little bit. Like speed said a lot of you're posts I've seen is jig this, jig that. Try swimbaits for a month or two then come back to me and tell me that "big baits" don't catch bigger bass.
  4. In you're 2nd to last post. "Big bass only hit big baits". Usually if you were to say that and then precede to say I don't believe in that, means that someone had to say it.
  5. Never did I once say or hint at that big bass only hit swimbaits. Don't twist words, ruins you're point. I'm simply stating that the majority of bass caught on a swimbait is big. There's no point for me to try and argue with you. It's a fact that big swimbaits catch big bass, that's all.
  6. Fresh not salt. Not really the same for both but nice snook.
  7. Thats really what it just comes down to, first hand experience.
  8. I guess there is no explaining myself. Oh well. All I know is from first hand experience bigger baits catch bigger bass. It's just a fact. Thanks for you're input though. But see even though they go in depth in the video we have no idea of the truth. There was no video evidence of him hooking it. There's many possibities to what could have happend.
  9. The reason I'm not saying anything about jigs is because I've been catching small ones on them. Plus, my lakes are not that deep for it. From all of the articles and threads I have read I agree that the jig can beat other baits on a certain day. I just haven't experienced it first hand. I've caught some big ones on jigs but most of my big ones have been on swimbaits. I just started fishing them I think about 2 if not less months ago and I've caught and fought some well over 3-8lbs. I've had two of my biggest come off in the past month. Ie experience the big bait equals big fish theory first hand. Just last Saturday I had a possible 10lber come off. There was no way I could keep its head down. Jumped about 5 times then shook loose in front of me. I've almost broken my PB maybe twice so far. That's what makes me think that swimbaits are the best big bass catchers. But I believe when I get older and experience fishing on bigger lakes more I will understand you're and everyone else's thought about jigs. It's just not smart say that big baits don't catch bigger bass. It just doesn't make sense(to me).
  10. Wasnt dotty snagged in the face? He thought she picked it up but she didn't? Correct me if I'm wrong. I think swimbaits are acquainting more 10+ now adays. How long ago were these too? I think in the past year there have been multiple 15+ bass caught on swimbaits.
  11. I did not say that. You would catch more bigger ones... I'm not saying that, I'm just stating that I believe in the big bait= big fish theory. It's just a fact that the bigger the bait you have a bigger chance of getting a bigger fish. Think about how mike Gilbert caught a 17.4 out in Cali. He was fishing a swimbait. Probably something over 6-8"s knowing he's a trophy hunter. I can almost garuntee you that bass would not of hit a worm or jig. It was keying in on trout. Fish some swimbaits and you'll see how you catch a lot more bigger ones. Fishing these big swimbaits you cut out the middle man basically. You're going after those big ones. Yes I agree small bass will hit big swimbaits but in my own opinion you will ultimately catch more bigger ones. Yes I've caught small ones on them too. A 10" worm and a 10" swimbait even though the same size attract Completley different size bass/fish. So you're saying if you fish say a MattLures Deadtwitch you will catch a small one on it? It's about 14" long I beleive.
  12. I don't know about that. I've been fishing swimbaits in the 6-9" range and I have been catching some bigguns. Not one bass has been under 2lbs for me for the past couple of months. It's also the way they displace in the water. They are a lot more bulky and move more water then say a worm.
  13. This... I responded to you via PM with a vague answer. My apologies. I hope other swimbait anglers chime in because I would love to see their preferences and when and where to throw a certain type of swimbait.
  14. Why are the guides too small? Why are they not good? What makes them that way? Give some insight so he can see a true reason why you don't like them. Give some detail. Yes you can't tie a leader which I hate. I have has no issues with braid whatsoever on my ducketts. I've used 50-65lb braid with no problems at all. Are you sure it's not from wood, rocks, or anything else?
  15. Nice one man! Keep chucking those big baits! Always like seeing you're posts. Keeps me fishing the big baits.
  16. 7'6" Heavy for sure! You get that extra leverage when setting the hook.
  17. A 7'0" Heeavy would be perfect. Maybe a 7'6" Heavy if you're in to longer rods. I used to have a 7'0" H and loved it. It snapped when I set the hook. I sent it to TW and got the 7'6" H in return and I'm happy with it.
  18. Good news! Hope you recover fast.
  19. To be honest mono woul be you're best bet. Either P-Line CXX or Berkley Big Game is the best for the price. You can get 500yd spools of 25lb Big Game or $9. I'm curentley using it and have no problems with it. Also with mono you won't snap baits off like you would with braid when you backlash(common problem). You also get more stretch so if your fishing a glide type bait it wouldn't get tangled like it would with braid. The good thing about mono is that if you are using something that sinks, it sinks. If you're fishing say a Huddleston, it will sink at a good rate and faster. But if you were using braid it would sink slower. This is just my opinion though, different strokes for different folks. Plus when you backlash with mono, it comes out so much easier. Think about it. When you're fishing say frogs, it sinches down pretty good. But when you're throwing a bait between 2-4oz's, it sinches down really good.
  20. The biggest bait I have right now is the 9" MS Salmmer. But it wakes so you can catch smaller bass on it too. It only weighs 2.4oz. I have so much confidence in this bait.
  21. Yes they do! At first I put some Owner ST-36 size 1 on them and after losing that big one I replaced those because they were just a little small for that bait. So I took hooks off of a Cordell Redfin and I put those on instead.
  22. Youre 100% right. To me the term swimbait means something that looks like forage in a lake.
  23. Put some bigger hooks on so if one even decides to breathe on it it's hooked haha.
  24. Got down there at about 8:00. Casted out my MS Slamemr to see if it was swimming right which it wasnt. Tuned it and first cast got a nice 2-3 pounder. Some guy thought my MS Slammer was a fish and casted at it and almost got me snagged which was pretty funny. He came over and saw that I had the bass and asked "What the hell is that thing you're using". It scared him when I casted haha. The night ended terribly. Caught another one and as I was flipping him out of the water he came loose. I jumped in the water and got him(water was only to my ankles). About 35 minutes after the last bass I went to spot that has rewared me many times and has also made me mad. This is the spot where I had my biggest bass ever come off at my feet, and my biggest hit ever with no hook-up. I casted out and let it sit there for about 30 seconds like always and started to reel super slow. I felt and heard a hug hit and set the hook. Fought it for about 10 seconds and it jumped, gone... I was stupid. I did not keep my rod tip down at all while fighting it. It had the head of a 10lber. Going back tonight till about 12:00am to get that sucker. Thanks for looking! Wish me luck.
