  1. My wife hates watching fishing on TV. But she loves watching the MLF format on TV and that's saying a lot.
  2. Stick-o's and 4" Magnum Flipping Tubes are the two main things that I consistently buy from BPS. I typically wait until black friday/Christmas time/Spring Classic to buy other things from there when they are on sale.
  3. Yep, it's fluorocarbon and gets out of the way pretty well.
  4. I use one of these: http://www.pitpal.com/chocks/tung-n-chock/ My uncle gave it to me when I bought the boat from him. Works great.
  5. I've been using the Berkley Fusion19 weedless wacky hooks and I really like them. Sticky, really weedless/snagless, and I haven't lost many fish using them.
  6. If you have an Academy close their Magellan brand are really good waders for the price. As said above get some stocking foot ones and then get some boots that fit those. Also, if you fish a river that is muddy you'll probably want lug sole boots and not felt. Felt is for slippery, moss covered rocks. Also, some places don't allow felt soles due to the spread of rock snot so be aware of that too.
  7. I have three trigger fingers and it's really aggravating sometimes when you grab something and you can't let go because your finger won't open up. I sometimes have to use my other hand to open up the finger. If it has just started an ortho doctor can inject cortisone in the joint where your finger meets the palm of your hand and it may loosen up the inflammation enough to cure the trigger caused by the tendon sheath catching on the inflammation on the tendon. I had it in one of my thumbs and an injection helped that one. I also had injections in my three fingers but they had built up too much scar tissue to help with just the injection. I'll eventually have to have surgery on those three fingers to get rid of the trigger. Seems like it's a 9-14 day down time per finger. My doctor says it's just something that happens to some people. It's not from working with tools, popping my knuckles as a kid, fishing, sports, etc. Although I'm one of the younger people he's seen with trigger fingers in as many fingers as I do.
  8. Yep, we use a glass minnow trap and some saltine crackers to catch all of our minnows on the streams we fish.

I've been using a Storm Arashi Cover Pop this year with good results. It casts great and it has a popping/walking action that keeps it in the strike zone longer.
  10. I have been using a battery tender trickle charger on my cranking battery while off the water and a two bank charger for my trolling batteries. Seems to work fine for me so far. Never had an issue starting the boat using this method.
  11. Paint jobs on fishing lures aren't meant to catch fish. They are meant to catch the fishermen. Some of my best lures have half the paint knocked off of them and look horrible to the human eye. Fish don't seem to mind though.
  12. I got tired of the receiver slop making the clunk every time I braked with my trailer behind the truck so I got one of these also. Works great.
  13. Looks like a Goldeye to me
  14. I want to say yes. I don't have a map card in mine, just a storage SD card but it saved a small lake I went to that wasn't mapped on the preloaded maps.
  15. Coast guard requirements are if you are moving and under way all you need is a flashlight that can be readied in time to attract attention before a collision occurs. If you are anchored you need a 360* white light.
  16. I use: Whopper Ploppers Sexy Dawgs Buzz baits Horny Toads Poppers All have their time and place.
  17. They are pretty tough. I can usually get about 7-8 fish using them before they end up cutting the worm in half. If that starts to happen I just rehook the worm through the other side that isn't tearing and I get a few more fish out of it before it's totally in half. Mind you I haven't tried these on genuine GY Senkos. I typically use Dingers or Stick-O's which are a little more durable than Senkos
  18. There was a thread not long ago about fishing scales and these were in that thread. I bought two because they were cost around the same price as buying a new set of batteries for my old Berkley scale. If one gets wet I have a backup. They are extremely accurate also and run off a single AAA battery. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Portable-Pocket-Digital-Fish-Hook-Luggage-Hanging-Weighing-Balance-Scale-US-SHIP/201182154407?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649
  19. I just recently started using the Storm Arashi Cover Pop. It's a great popper that is super easy to get to walk and pop
  20. The Goody bands I buy are rubber and not poly and I haven't had an issue with them melting. I bought this same package of multi size ones a few years ago and I have tons left. I use the small and medium sized ones for my wacky rigs and I use the larger size for my daughters ponytails.
  21. P-Line CX is my go to line. It's very strong for it's rating. My buddy used to use Flouroclear until he kept seeing his lures fly Flouroclear across the lake when the line would break on the cast ?
  22. I typically use a 7.1:1 or 7.3:1 for my top waters and usually don't have any problem keeping my toads on top.
  23. I'll be trying these after my Horny Toad supply dwindles. They look great and the price looks even better. I'll be using it on a VMC 1/16oz weighted swimbait hook as I do with my Zooms. Helps keep it flipped the right way.
  24. With grass you could have switched to a buzz frog like a Horny Toad or something similar. It would have glided right across that grass and smallies love them.
  25. As long as the eBay ones are using good hooks like Gamys or mustads they should be fine. Thats what I use and catch lots of fish on tubes. My favorite color for BPS tubes is Puke only because the streams around here are full of crayfish of that color. Another good color is green pumpkin with red flake. I typically use the 4” magnum flipping tubes from BPS.
