  1. St. Croix makes a Mojo Bass that is a two piece rod 6'8" in both Med and Med Heavy. I've read that the Kastking Perigee II are really good 2-piece rods also. And you can get them with two tips with different powers so in essence you are buying two rods for one.
  2. I'm actually heading to Ontario this Thursday for some walleye and pike action at Lake Pashkagogan. Never caught a walleye and am looking forward to the chance.
  3. Top 10 get prizes right? My buddy is currently sitting in 10th for BR and 16th overall. He's stoked!
  4. When a fish shakes it's head and both claws go flying off into the water it's hard to use mend-it on them The bodies of Rage Craws are plenty durable but they don't catch many fish without at least one claw still attached.
  5. Jitterbugs aren't made like they used to be. I bought a few a couple years ago and after using them for a while one of them started to sink so I don't think they are made out of balsa like they were when I was a kid. They were one of my favorites back then. I've caught a lot of bass on crazy crawlers too. Also when I was a kid and I still have a vintage one that my grandpa gave me back then that is all beat up from numerous bass eating it. I always loved seeing it swim across the top of the water.
  6. I have an LFS and they are really great reels for the price. Like someone above said if you have three rods you need reels on I'd get three of the LFS
  7. They make jig eye paint remover tools just for this: https://www.cabelas.com/product/BASS-PRO-JIG-EYE-CLEANER/2973040.uts?productVariantId=5943215&WT.tsrc=PPC&WT.mc_id=GoogleProductAds&WT.z_mc_id1=00848233&rid=20&ds_rl=1246492&ds_rl=1246531&ds_rl=1247882&ds_rl=1252079&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIwKHanoeU5AIVIx6tBh3KLwNtEAQYBCABEgKOd_D_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds
  8. Yeah, it's almost like the hook point needs to be angled more towards the center of the back of the head instead of the eye of the hook.
  9. I was scared for a while that P-Line stopped making CX Premium as I couldn't find it at any of my local stores and it seemed like everywhere online was out of stock also. But it came back. It's my favorite line with CXX a close second for heavier cover stuff. I used to like YoZuri Hybrid but it got too curly if I didn't use it enough even with some KVD Line and Lure sprayed on it. Most of my stores now carry the blue fluorescent, moss green, and hi-viz CX Premium. Haven't really found the clear anywhere for a long time but I usually just use the moss green stuff and it works great. *I just realized the "clear" is the blue fluorescent that I see at stores.
  10. I am also not a fan of playing music while fishing. As others have said I let the outdoors play my sound track for me. I go fishing to get away from all the noise of everyday life.
  11. I'm right handed and I buy left retrieve reels so I can cast with my right and instantly reel with my left. It feels unnatural to me to switch hands and reel with my right hand anymore.
  12. Yep, it's just the nature of the elaztec. But then go and try to thread a screw loc onto the end of one and it won't have it any time of the day.
  13. Yum Christie Craw works well and the price is great on them too.
  14. I usually break them off with a pliers to begin with and then superglue the worm to the head. Usually can get at least 50 fish out of a worm doing that.
  15. Yeah that was only when they started up doing the Cup series shows when MLF first came around. Since then they've picked up Bass Cat as a sponsored boat and they use those in the Cup series also. With the Bass Pro Tour MLF events the anglers can use their usual boat from whatever manufacturer they want and they have 250s on them (typically)
  16. I think out of all my rods only two rods are made by the same company. And I like most of them. I have: Abu Garcia Veritas casting Bass Pro Bionic Blade casting Bass Pro Carbon Lite II casting (best casting I have) Shimano Clarus casting Academy H2O Express Ethos spinning Lew's TP1 Speed Stick spinning (best spinning I have) Berkely Lightning spinning St. Croix fly
  17. That all seems like a lot of work for something that can break off and lose it on a snag or a fish. I usually just take a small sized black nylon zip tie and cinch it down on the jig. haven't had one fall off yet and it's quick and easy to do. The zip tie will last longer than the skirts most likely.
  18. Smithwick suspending Rogues are cheap jerkbaits that work well.
  19. Fish can't tell if that zig zagging splish splashing bait on the top of the water is white or clear or whatever color you are using. They are mostly reaction strikes and they see something going across the top of the water and they want to eat it. A dark/black color might help in stained or muddy water to help it stand out some but mostly they are attacking the movement and sound of the bait rather than the color.
  20. I agree and I have several pair. I like their shorts also made of the same material for just wearing around during hot summers.
  21. When I had my Nissan Altima I had an Inno rack system on the top of my car. I loved it. I hauled two kayaks using their kayak cradles and uprights (INA455) with no issues at all. I went with Inno over Yakima or Thule because the Inno was cheaper overall and came with locks for the bars so they could not be removed easily. They went on and off easily too and I took them off over the winter and kept them on during the fishing seasons. It looks like Inno makes a rack for your Milan. The only thing I wouldn't recommend is using the cam style straps the carrier comes with as they tended to loosen up on me. I went to Harbor Freight and bought a set of 4 ratchet straps to use. As for price I was probably in for around $500 for the whole system but it was worth being able to throw two kayaks up on my car and go.
  22. My Ned rig rod is a H2O Express Ethos from Academy. Works as it should for the Ned.
  23. The new Carbonlite 2.0 rods are pretty light. Really balanced also.
  24. But when you can change that 10 pack of senkos that may catch 10-12 fish into a pack of 10 senkos that will catch 30-40 fish it makes sense to get a pack of $1/100 hair bands to wrap around the worm. I typically can get at least 4-5 fish off one senko using a hair band, sometimes more if I'm using the weedless hook as the weedguard helps to keep the worm from sliding up the line which is typically what cuts my worm in half.
