  1. Caught this one today in a local park pond. 3lbs on the nose. There were several bigger ones you could see cruising and guarding beds too but they didn't want anything you put in front of them.
  2. I used a keel weighted swimbait hook with a screwloc for my horny toads. One with just enough weight like 1/16-1/8oz to flip them back over so the hook point is facing up. I think the ones I've been using lately are like 4/0 VMC hooks.
  3. Missouri's record is 13lbs 14oz caught out of Bull shoals in 1961
  4. I use some 16' ratchet straps I bought at Walmart. They work great and are a lot better than the tug and pull and hope they hold straps that came with my rooftop carrier.
  5. I thought the same thing about inflating trailer tires to less than the max like you do with car tires. Bad mistake. I had two new tires a put on my 17' Tracker trailer a couple years ago and the tire side wall said 50psi max, so I put about 37-38 in them thinking that would be well enough for them. Nope, I blew one of them after going over a bump because the lower pressure caused the trailer to bounce too much. I've put 48-49 since then and haven't had a problem.
  6. Or it may just be that it's something different and they don't like it or know what it is so they eat it.
  7. When I'm fishing a river I always have a 4" tube tied on. Catches way too many fish to not. I've never really had any luck with jig and trailers on rivers.
  8. I'm from Missouri, I'm a male, and I was born in 1973
  9. The split rings on the other hand aren’t that great. At leas on the 90’s. I’ve broken two. On dinky fish when I’ve swung them up to me out of the water.
  10. I'm pretty sure tracker used 8 gauge wiring until the last few years where they moved up to 6 gauge. My 2008 175 TWX has 8 gauge and I installed a 65lb thrust Minn Kota Maxxum on it and it's worked fine. Minn Kota has a wiring chart on their webpage: https://www.minnkotamotors.com/support/compatibility/battery-selection-and-rigging T-H marine make a battery tray that barely fits two 27 series batteries longitudinally in front of the starting battery, at least on my boat, not sure about the older Trackers. But they fit. I have noticed the boat takes a while to get on plane with the 3 batteries, a full gas tank and a full live well and me and my buddy in the boat. but I rarely have the livewell full and I typically only fill the gas tank about half full so I don't see much loss of performance unless I have a full boat. Here's the battery tray: https://www.basspro.com/shop/en/t-h-marine-dual-battery-holder-tray The only other thing besides a new trolling motor and another battery would be a short section of wire for a jumper between the two batteries to wire them in series to make it a 24v system. And as for 65lb vs 80lb thrust, the 65 moves my boat just fine. It trolls at about 4 1/2mph when it's on full speed. If you do move up to 80lb you'll probably want to run new 6ga wire to the back.
  11. My transducer is mounted to the TM with a plastic bracket that came with the transducer then the bracket is secured to the motor using metal hose clamps. I don’t believe the transducer touches the motor at all.
  12. I haven't had issues with my stern mounted transducer that is connected to my console finder but I have had interference with my front finder with my trolling motor mounted transducer when the trolling motor is on. I've tried rerouting the wire being ziptied to the motor control harness to just on the motor mount but that really didn't fix the problem. I've been told I need to get a ferrite noise filter to run the wire around a couple times to help negate the interference. So if you do have interference that might be something you try.
  13. I want to say the 4cyl 5 spd Rangers/Mazda2300's weren't recommended to tow anything. I know my 95 Mazda with a 4 banger couldn't hardly get out of it's own way. Will it tow it? Probably, but not very well and you are really going to stress that 4cyl and T5 transmission and brakes.
  14. BPS Spring Classic ended this past Sunday. Again, it doesn't matter if you get a Cabela's gift card or a Bass Pro gift card. They work at both since they are the same company now.
  15. 8.2 Love me some Cheryl
  16. What about a UV acrylic like this one that Orvis sells. You'll need a UV light that sets the acrylic in a couple seconds. Fly tiers use this to make flies and it's hard stuff. http://www.orvis.com/p/bug-bond/1Y59?item_code=1Y590400&adv=127748&cm_mmc=plas-_-FlyFishing-_-1Y59-_-127748&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIqIbOioHW2QIVjwBpCh2-FApQEAQYBSABEgLAQ_D_BwE
  17. I've used both and CXX isn't as limp as the YoZuri but from my experience I've had issues with both having pretty bad memory on them. The CXX seems to get better as you use it and straightens out a lot and Line and Lure helps that too on both. As much as I wanted to like YoZuri I just didn't like it. I actually prefer P-Line CX Premium over both and it is more manageable than either of the other two and that is my go to line now.
  18. I love my Garmin Echomap 73SV. Works great and has built in maps The imaging works great and has really clear pictures.
  19. Just because it’s a 9:1 ratio reel doesn’t mean he can’t slow crank.
  20. So since these are the same company now you can use gift cards to either at both. Winner winner....
  21. Something like this would work well too http://www.lock-n-haul.com/lnhua.html
  22. I have never used Fluoroclear but I have a buddy that does and I'm not sure why he keeps using it. It breaks a lot on him and he's never had good results with it. I'm a huge fan of P-line though and use CX Premium religiously.
  23. I have the 2008 version of the boat you are getting with the same motor and a 65lb thrust TM. I'll tell you this, with 2 people and their gear, a full tank of fuel, and a livewell full of water it will take a bit to get up on plane, but it should top out around 36-37mph with all that. I usually only run about half a tank of gas and I typically don't do tournaments so I don't have a full livewell so it all works fine for me. That 4 stroke sips gas and a half tank will last you a long time. As for trimming the motor up, you'll hear the difference in the sound of the motor and you'll see the RPMs start to go back down when you have it trimmed up too much. I want to say mine will run full out trimmed up properly at about 5600-5700RPM according to the tach.
  24. Wow, old thread from the dead.
