  1. Craws and senkos.
  2. I didn't have a bad experience with vicious. Red label has been fine as well. I know a lot of people don't care for vicious though. I should mention that I have only used red label as leader material, so I don't really know about its memory.
  3. Chronarch 51e *** *** 6'7 MH 7 Lucky Craft RTO squarebills (2.0 and 2.5's) some hooks and a pack of Rage Craws and my brother is planning on getting me a Scotty Mount or two for my yak
  4. This. The deepest I fish is kind of mid range divers. But for shallow cranks and jerkbaits on my 705cb I just got a ch51e at cabelas.
  5. lol I know. I've been in a sarcastic joking mood today for some reason

    I use a box.
  7. Like others said, dark colors. I have most confidence in my Rage plastics. I really like the thumper and recon worms. I also like the space monkey and rage craw. I never hesitate to chuck a senko in there either.
  8. You can really use it for anything. Typically people will use a high speed reel for bottom contact lures (Texas rigs, Carolina rigs, jigs) or topwaters/frogs. Jerkbaits might be another option depending on personal preference and style. Once you decide what you want to use it for you should easily be able to find info on rod specifications with the search function here or good Ole Google.
  9. Just messing. I don't know many people that like fishing enough be on a fishingforum that don't succumb to the temptations of the baitmonkey.
  10. T9 pretty much said it. For me I let the amount of hair on the jig dictate how quick I will put a trailer on as well. I have the Punisher jigs you just got in 1/4 oz and (I think) 1/8 oz. To me, they have hair where I won't lose conficence in them quickly w/o a trailer. The North Star jigs I will typically just start off with a small trailer like an SK Baby Rodent. My NSCB hair jigs are also 3/8oz. Ultimately, again like T9 said, let the fish decide.
  11. I'd go either M or ML spinning rod, depending on the manufacturer. Otherwise you need to get a pretty finesse specific bc set up. Of all the gear I have used, I would use a Dobyns DX742sf as far as spinning stuff goes (I sold that though). I still have a DX703sf that I would use now. I have a DX742c paired with a Shimano Aldebaran BFS that I would also have no problem using either. Are you planning on putting a trailer on your hair jigs? Some I do (like the NSCB hairjig), some I don't. That would obviously change a lot as well.
  12. Did you get free shipping on that order?
  13. Do you even baitmonkey, bro?
  14. What size are the jigs? I've used everything from a ML spinning rod to a MH casting rod depending on the jig.
  15. Just added a *** 6'7 MH *** and a pack of Rage Craws...
  16. 7 lc rto cranks. I don't remember the colors exactly. Shimano chronarch 51e (and a pack of hooks to bring my total over 150 to get the deal on shipping) I still have some $ burning a hole in my pocket. I might actually save it though. oh... and a cold
  17. Shimano curado 301e on a Phenix 682c.
  18. I'm looking at a fishfinder for my kayak and am mostly lost on what I should be looking at. I have a Wilderness Systems Ride 115. I'm looking to spend a max of around $300, so I'm not looking to get something massive. How valuable is being able to mark waypoints in a kayak? Is DSI something I should be looking at? Any help ya'll can provide me with is more than appreciated. Thanks in advance.
  19. I had a Savvy. I was OK, but I wouldn't choose it for bottom contact/feel lures. It is a nice rod but not my choice for applications that require a sensitive rod. I think there better rods out there for the money when it comes to rods I would use for worms/jigs. The Powell Endurance used to be a great rod for the money when it was around $150. Depending on how much over $150 you are willing to go, the new Max 3D might be worth checking out. The Fenwick rods also get great reviews, the Elite Tech and Aetos. The St. Croix Avid and Rage would also be worth looking at. Phenix also has some good rods. I haven't used the Recon 2 but it gets good reviews. I did have an M1 and enjoyed it a lot. I've heard plenty of good stuff about the Duckett Magic series (white rods just aren't for me). And the new Daiwa Tatula rod has been getting a lot of good feedback as well. The Shimano Crucial always seems to be a solid choice too. I know that's a lot of options, but I really feel like its hard to go wrong with most of the rods in the $150-$200 range. If you can handle the rods with the reel you will be using I would recommend mounting it on them and seeing which feels best.
  20. I don't keep any long enough to know. Selling and trading and buying is too much fun
  21. I also like my dx742c. I had a 744c that I really liked a lot too,but I am trying out the old black cumara. I haven't had much chance to fish it yet, but it does feel better in hand with my reels so far.
