  1. How would they do in weeds/moss etc?
  2. I would like to be able to do the same. Have heard of several people registering under out of state families name, or switching plates, if they have more than one trailer. What our state did should be illegal !! I could understand raising the fees, even on an annual basis, as long as it's reasonable.
  3. Are peddle kayaks that much better than paddle ? Never had a kayak, reason for asking.
  4. The $100 increase was last year. A friend has three single axle, and three tandem axle trailers (one is duals). I'd hate to see what he pays !
  5. Down here in gods country everything is open !!! ??
  6. Nybasser - congratulations !! That's beautiful !!!!
  7. Thank you! Good information.
  8. Big easy bassin, how do you like the hydroturf ?
  9. Tatsu dave- nothing wrong with that boat! Had one similar (although alot uglier!), For many years.
  10. Way north bass guy - thank you! Will do. Got the inspiration for the engine colors from Evinrude. My plan is to use one of the knock off seadeck type of EVA faux foam floors. Either red, or gray with red stripes. If I had the money, I'd get two tone red/grey and route in "Skeeter". This winter I plan on getting most of the stickers back on the boat, and trailer. I found some on discontinueddecals.com . Gonna put red "Mariner" stickers on the sides of the engine, "115" (vertical) on the back of the engine. Have aways to go, it's been a fun project though! I was scanning craigslist ads for another project boat, wife wasn't happy! She wants me to keep this one, and use it.
  11. 1987 Skeeter Strada F120, 1987 115hp "Tower of Power", 36 volt maxxum pro, Garmin Striker 4. Almost done with a full restore.
  12. 1987 Skeeter Strada F120. No clue as to how many it will hold, not much i'm guessing. Then again, for years I've always had 8 on the deck, would only use 2 or 3 all day. I cut the headwall out, could probably put a 9'er in there!
  13. When I was bass fishing it, green pumpkin zoom speed craw, Texas rig, on laydowns and riprap. Or squarebill, spinnerbait, jig, 10" worm. I typically had my better luck north of the interstate, or on the west side - across from the ramp. If you have good electronics, there is ALOT of Xmas trees, and other items that have been sunk, all over the lake. Good luck! The bass are few and far between. I think there is a tournament on Tuesday nights, you might try that, maybe they can show you. The last couple years have gotten worse and worse for bass and crappie. It does have a good catfish population though!! Some of the biggest bullheads I've ever seen. Good eating size channel cats.
  14. Good luck, shad are extremely fragile. Holes in the bottom would be worth a shot.
  15. More amazing is the honest people !
  16. I believe the outboards have universal mounting holes. Standard BIA, I think it's called. I just put a jackplate on my boat. My '87 Mariner bolted up fine.
  17. Can you install it yourself? You can get a harbor freight engine hoist for $200, lifting ring for $30-$50. Rent a trailer, or a truck, pick it up yourself. Price a new comparable boat first. You might repower after that.
  18. Personally I don't think brand is as important as a reputable, local, dealer. They're man-made, they will break! I've had Evinrude, Mercury, Johnson, Yamaha ( both 2 & 4 stroke), and now a '87 Mariner. The four stroke I had was the most quiet one I've owned, and the best on gas. It was also quite heavy, and didn't have much of a hole shot. It's a trade-off. Same as aluminum vs fiberglass. Are there any 2 strokes that are still being made? Now that Evinrude stopped production.
  19. Truer words have never been spoken! ! OP - on YouTube, look up tactical bassin, they have some good underwater footage. Some of it shows just how many fish are in a school. Some good reading on this thread.
  20. No. That'll turn any good day bad, quick!! I always worried about that happening. One of the many reasons I'm only putting one 4" graph on this project boat!
