Flex of the rod doesn't really impact accuracy or the tightness of your casting loop, that is technique related. My .02 on weights are there is no perfect weight for smallies, LM and stripers but yo can always throw lighter flies on a heavier weight rod but the reverse isn't done as easily. I have a sage bass II LM rod which is the equivalent of like a 10-11 wt and i have made long tippets and threw some small flies because the fish were going after small damselflies like crazy that day.

it is more important to find a rod that matches your casting style and preference. Also there is no standard for measuring the action of a fly rod so one company may call something fast that another company calls Medium-Fast. I prefer faster action rods for everything but small trout streams. Faster action rods will fight the wind and handle heavier flies a little more easily in my opinion.

We just bought a house last April and it was a tough to find what we wanted. We looked at dozens of houses and the ones that were priced well and were what we were looking for sold very quickly. I actually found the house we bought on Zillow as a FSBO and told my real estate agent we wanted to look at it and he set it up which wasn't that easy really given no agent to work with. House was listed on friday, we looked at it saturday and had an offer accepted by sunday evening. Things go fast around here for sure. My only advice is to be patient and don't settle. It is a lot of money and hassle to buy a house unless you are paying cash.

that is part of dealing with craigslist and the reason i have an old email that i use only for stuff like craigslist. To me there is no holding anything either. Unless you give me a deposit then it is being sold to whoever i want whenever i want.

I have the first generation Helix 5si with the HD transducer on my kayak and i get good detail. Like others have mentioned your chart speed should match your boat speed and you'll have to play with the sensitivity till you get the picture you are looking for. Setting it to high can result in getting a lot of "junk" in the picture. You also want to have the distance set to about 3x the depth you are at but i tend to go a little further and it works for me. Post some pictures and that can help diagnose the issues you are having as well. I am sure WayneP will chime in as he is the humminbird guru.

for me it is about proximity to the fishing areas. When i lived in trout and smallmouth land i fished 60/40 trout to bass. now i am probably 90/10 bass everything else.

I've seen a few lambos around here and what always amazes me is how short they are. The pictures you see led me to believe they are a big car like a corvette size or larger but in reality, they are pretty small.

I have yet to crack the fall fishing code around here but i seem to fall (pun intended) into some good fish in the late fall early winter. Here in central VA it generally doesn't get super cold so hard water isn't an issue. part of my issue is I tend to fish a bunch of different lakes and not really spending the time to learn all of them like I should. I went out to a lake i used to fish a few years ago, very often, and realized why I used to like that lake so much. I plan on fishing it hard this fall and winter and hope to crack some of the code of the lake and maybe, get into some green bass as large as the brown bass you are catching. I hear ya. That team was poised to make a run and Cunningham went down in the first game of the season. No team has been as dominant against both the run and the pass as they were that season. I want to say they had 6 players on that defense make the probowl, back when it actually meant something and three from the D line were first team all pro. Not sure that has happened since. Even if they made the playoffs, their QB play was so bad that no defense could've carried that team to the promised land lol

yes sir. Unfortunately they were plagued with 6 different starting QBs and still managed to win 10 games and not make the playoffs. They are still the only team to leave the league in both passing and rushing yards per game. His performance in philly far outweighed his performance outside philly. I am pretty sure he had nearly double the amount of sacks and tackles. If that doesn't mean he "played" for philly then i am not sure what to tell you. He was also the anchor for the greatest single season defense of all time.
