Are those ducks good to eat?

I am a big fan of the stradics, can't go wrong there in my opinion

SOT here. I am currently paddling a Wilderness Systems ATAK. I fished out of a SINK for a year when really it was the only type available but once got into a SOT i never looked back, well until i tried a hybrid boat for a few years that i sold last year to help fund my ATAK purchase. As far as sit in versus sit on, self draining, more flexible seat options, open cockpit area for fly fishing and better seating are all top of the list for me.

at least 12" here in mechanicsville but it is hard to tell actual totals because it was so windy and it was blowing around like crazy. I know the corners of my fences have solid 5' drifts. My street is ridiculously bad still, i'll be surprised if schools are opened any sooner than thursday

I am glad the broncos won but i really want to see Fitzgerald win a super bowl trophy. I can't think of a classier WR at the level he has played for his career since Rice....not to mention staying on the cards when he could have bolted and got paid big time money elsewhere....total class act.

Still snowing pretty hard her in central VA. With all the wind it is hard to say how much new snow we have gotten today. I do know that where we played in the backyard yesterday looks like we never stepped foot back there.

i have caught bowfin and bass in the same stretch of lilly pads before. I personally love catching them and i hate that people kill them for no reason around her win central VA.

we got probably 5" yesterday and then followed by ice last night which was loud and it is back to snowing pretty solid and is supposed to keep going all day. the prediction is another 3-5" before it is all said and done. Temp is 26 with a high supposed to be 28... No power loss for us here either and directv is still going strong lol I am just hoping that i can get another day or two off school when it is all said and done

i bought the banjo minnow and it is a good bait....i also nose hooked more baits because of using that bait.

Pick up any exclusive magazine for a particular sport or hobby and you could say the same thing. As far as gear goes and my spending I am pretty set for a while except for terminal tackle which needs to be replaced every so often. I am currently saving for both a new house and a new trailer to haul my kayaks around with so that takes precedence over any other fishing stuff right now.

started here about 40 minutes ago and it is coming down pretty hard and already covering the roads. Gonna be a good one if it keeps up at this pace and for the length of time they predicted. Everyone be safe out there but i do have to admit, i wish i was in my kayak on the river right boat now....nothing beats a snowstorm on the river

Yeah i know what you mean there, maybe i am just jealous but at the same time, I had my share of fun in college too while working full time job and full time classes I was lucky in that i was into fly fishing and climbing so my only expenses were gas money to get me to and from the streams and the crags lol

what i wold like to know is how a college kid has an 18' glass boat and is taking it to college and then where is he going to store it once there? Not to mention all the money on gas for the boat and the vehicle.....I was lucky to have a toyota minivan my parents gave me when i went to college.....

Central VA according to WxRisk who i believe more than any other weather person out there is predicting a lot more than 5-8".....i just hope out starts early enough on friday to cancel school for the day

Can't help on the kayak rigging other than if you can do thru hull i would do that as it is easier to use and no worries about the whole arm deal off the side. I had a arm on one of my older kayaks and i hated it. As far as FF goes, i will also recommend the Helix units. I have a 5 SI which is out of your price range but the models without SI are in your range. The ease of use is a definite plus for me as is the screen size.

Virginia has no closed season. If there is water you can fish. There are some special reg areas for trout and some trophy bass areas that are C&R but for the most part, I fish year round.

Retractable dog leash has worked for me for a long time...i do need another one though as my latest one rusted out the internals.

My question would be how many of these spots could you find with your own research given the prevalence of info on the internet? I also think the majority, if not all of us, are fishing tournaments for fun and to maybe make some cash n the side. When fishing becomes your meal ticket the stakes are raised and things get more serious. I personally don't see a problem with people talking to people they know to get info. I mean if i am going to a new lake and ask someone for some spots is that any different because my network is larger or because i have more clout if i was an elite level angler? As far as the electronics things go, clearing them out is silly as there are people like Ike who says he goes through topos and marks hundreds of waypoints based on what he sees, should that not be allowed to? Just go out there and fish and see what happens.

If it doesn't get much pressure then why worry about a slot limit? you mentioned that it was fishing well and there are quality bass so to me, it sounds like it is doing just fine. As far as pushing for a slot limit, you would have to push it to whoever manages the public fisheries in your state i would imagine but you also have to remember that they probably already looked into it and chose the limits based on what they thought was best anyways. Slot limits are really only effective if people follow them and I am not sure about your state but here in VA i have run into a warden 2 times and both were on the same lake in my 12 years living and fishing here in VA.

I'll echo the spell check and also have someone not 17 proofread if you are serious about it. And if you really want to get your name out there, fish in the big kayak tourneys like the KBF world championship or whatever it is called. That event attracts the big boys in the kayaking world.

i have been fishing out of a kayak for a long time now. for me it was a cheap way to get started but i quickly realized that it really isn't once you get the itch for different boats for different uses. My last kayak purchase could have gotten me a decent aluminum boat for the electric only lakes i fish around here I will get a traditional boat at some point though cause it will be easier to take my son out in.
