  1. So maybe i am crazy but you are just figuring this out after 6 years? Why is this an issue this year and not the previous 5? Sounds more like your club need to have non-boaters compete against non-boaters. Really it sounds like you need to get your own boat or find another club. Would making the entry fee $20 or $15 even make a difference? I mean your results would be the same only you wouldn't get as much money if you did win.
  2. I haven't done this on a reel but i have on other stubborn small screws....instead of heating the screw directly i would heat the screwdriver itself. Usualy it was enough heat to break it free without potential damaging of nearby components.
  3. tons of people put the kayak on top with foam blocks. Also with that car you should be able to find a thule or yakima system for much cheaper on craigslist. I believe yakima uses the Q towers and clips and the clips are reasonable enough that if you jsut found the Q tower and bars getting the clips wouldn't be a huge added expense. I gad a buddy who used the foam blocks and while a PITA it worked until he bought his truck.
  4. I would bet all of our wives or girlfriends would say the same exact thing
  5. I think you have that reversed lol
  6. flyfisher replied to Rossi's topic in Introductions
welcome aboard and you live near some outstanding fisheries....
  7. I was wondering how that junk worked....is it just the one piece that goes into your HDMI port on your TV or is there something that goes into your laptop too?? I was debating on apple TV but if i can broadcast iTunes movies and videos through that i may forgo the added expense.
  8. my hope in humanity is now shattered as you were one of the people who post and i don't feel the need to validate...now what to do...... :D
  9. If there were more people with your viewpoint and ability to discuss what could be volatile topics in a constructive manner, we would be in a much better place as a society.
  10. So are chess players athletes? It is all semantics but my perspective is an athlete can be a bass fisherman but a bass fisherman does not have to be an athlete.
  11. This is a stupid lawsuit and i hope they laugh him out of court and charge him for wasting the time of the judicial system. Super Bowl tickets, from what i understand are obtained via lottery after all the players, coaches, team etc...tickets are handed out. If you can't afford the tickets then save up and go in a few years. I know the patriots were nailing season ticket holders for selling over face value on stub hub because they weren't getting a cut of the money but i believe it was challenged and found to be invalid. And what is the average fan anyways? Are we talking national average of salary in the 40k range? I have paid triple face value for a world series ticket and double for playoffs for both football, baseball and basketball. Unless you are season ticket holder it is how it goes...you pay the price or you watch in HD at home.....pretty simple really.
  12. Valid points and i do understand, my point was more that it is pretty possible that people didn't know it was a flag until it was to late and just a person who lost something trying to pick it up. and the outlook for the USA is just fine.....and i wouldn't trade being here for anywhere else in the world even with issues that we are all facing.
  13. near darwin award there.....i am not a gun owner but even i wouldn't do anything that stupid.
  14. Sad story and what makes it even more sad is that it could have been prevented.
  15. Comparing apples and oranges here. Pitchers and all baseball players for that matter play 162 games from april to october 1st or so. It is not uncommon to play 20 games in a row without a rest day and that includes travel to and from. There is no way a fisherman is as good an athlete as any baseball player and that is assuming you think tourney fisherman are athletes, which i don't. Your comparison would be like saying well hockey players only play 1-3 minute shifts and only 23 minutes a game ( for the top guys) so it can't be as hard as a day of tournament fishing. They are different but i would venture a guess that any baseball player could go out and fish all day long with no issues for a week where i couldn't say the same about an angler going out and playing baseball.
  16. Also the NFL itself doesn't make money per se...it is the teams. I like to think of it as the NFL is the pimp for the rest of the teams and gets it cut accordingly.
  17. I am going to also play a little devil's advocate here but if i see a guy on the side of the road pointing to something on the ground my first inclination is to determine if i can avoid it and if not if i can go over it without causing damage and avoid this person who is pointing and goign to most likely come in to the road. Depending on the rate of speed this is going ot happen pretty quickly. I wouldn't worry about it as i doubt people were doing it on purpose i.e. there is an American flaglet me go see if i can run it over.... Also if you want to get technical i was under the impression that flags were only to be flown on a vehicle by being mounted to the chassis or right front fender. The rules for boats are a little more vague as the original rules were not established with boats in mind. So before you start making assumptions about other's intents one could easily argue it was your fault in the first place because the flag was not secured properly.
  18. I have gone the past three years and each year i wondered why so this year i am going to skip it. I do like the seminars and seeing some gear but for the most part it felt like a flea market with boats and a few fish tanks. Hope all you guys have fun though
  19. You can put pretty much whatever you want on a kayak. I have seen everything from the pirahna max series, which i currentlyh have, up to the high dollar side imaging units. I would look at your budget, what features you want and buy accordingly.
  20. That is awesome...i would do that in a second. It reminds me of all those via ferrata routes you see in the dolomites.
  21. I am by no means an expert on boats but there are a few things about the listing that concern me. nobody is that nice about getting something fixed covering the costs and your time to get it done-most would use this as a bargaining chip when negotiating the price of the boat Why only a picture of half the boat the whole "Buyer is responsible for delivery and all legal documentation at the DMV." Is he saying there is no title for the boat and if so, why? worth taking a look at but all those things make me skeptical if there is something hiding...
  22. Tacoma is a good truck but if i was looking to tow often, like it seems you will, would bump up to a full size for the added towing capability and braking. The taco would be able to tow fine but the stopping part is where the added weight of a full size will help.
  23. Funny how things have changed....i always thought spring break was for drinking and chasing tail....who knew
  24. I agree about Cam....in the pros he really hasn't had any issues other than improving every year. GOnan be some good games and Carolina/San Fran will be good....well and the other games too
  25. Foles will be the starter for years to come and i would love to keep vick as the backup. San Fran got healthy at the right time and could beat up on carolina next week for sure, Next week should be just as fun....
