The Road To The Super Bowl
I agree and no way newton will get to be elite. He has a little to much diva in him to be that successful.

The Trash Is Flying, The Pennants Are Flying, And The Al Central Is Still Terrible
I am glad the roid heads are not getting in, yet. I don't think they ever should myself. Schilling is not legendary in my opinion. He didn't perform spectacularly in the regular season but he was a stud in the playoffs. I also don't think biggio is a HOF caliber player. He is a compiler and not worthy of the hall. I mean if he gets in then so should Jamie Moyer....

The Road To The Super Bowl
as much as it pains me to say it, Eli Manning is in the top 2 or 3 QBs in the league. He has 2 superbowl wins with the first one i would say mainly because of teh defense but the second he was very much responsible for. I really want to like Flacco but he is just to inconsistent for me which may partially be that he has never been in a pass heavy offense. No matter what i would take either of them to be the Eagles QB, although i think Foles will be ok with a decent offensive line..... Tough road ahead for RG. Even if he heals physically, which is no guarantee, the thought of injuring the same knee with major surgery in the past 3 years has to weigh on him mentally quite a bit.

Citica 201G6--Gear Changes?
I actually have both an E and G series and i am not partial to which one i would be making the change to other than obvious cost differences. It seems dumb that if you can make a gear swap on your own that Shimano doesn't offer the reel in a different gear ratio. I was also looking at TW and they had last year's Revo WInch reel on sale for $159.99 which is what got me to thinking if i wanted to spend that much on a reel that i won't use all the time or modify an existing reel and save a little coin.

Citica 201G6--Gear Changes?
Thanks for the advice everyone. I tried to use a right handed reel and i just can't do it...to many years fly fishing and using a spinning reel with a left hand retrieve i guess. So it sounds possible and not super expensive so i guess i have some decisions to make....

The Road To The Super Bowl
I was going to say they have this program called Excel that might help out I am such a stats geek i put together stats spreadsheets all the time ranging from baseball, football all the way to citation sized bass caught by month and body of water here in VA

Heavy Sinking Brush Hog Alternative
I agree with the heavier weight. I also use bobber stops instead of the toothpick which seem to work better for me.

Pitching And Flipping From A Canoe
I use my spinning rod to flip/pitch with when sitting in my kayak. Basically you open the bail, release enough line to have the bait swing about reel level while holding the line with your reel hand. You then pendulum the bait towards the target and releas the line with your reel hand and feather the spool as it reaches the target. Way harder to explain than to do.....I'll see if I can make up a video this weekend when I go out. I obviously don't use this with super heavy gear but it works great to throw baits in brush and other tight spots where you can't skip a bait or use a traditional casting technique.

Citica 201G6--Gear Changes?
I have a citica that I was wondering if it possible to change the gearing to a lower ratio. I know they make a 5.5:1 ratio in the right hand mode, but not left. I figure if I can change the gearing it will give me a cranking reel and then I can get a higher speed reel for other applications that I would use more often. Thanks

First Trip Of The Year
I have only seen the fish around with the red lips in the winter and it is on all the lakes. So I am not completely convinced that they are feeding on craws. This lake in particular I have searched for craws and threw out a trap once just to see and not one craw....either way I will throw some more jigs for sure

Crankbait Rod And Line Question
Thanks for all the advice. I currently have braid on the reel I am using for cranking and I was wondering if it was worth changing. I am gonna leave it for now and maybe go to a leader later on.

The Road To The Super Bowl
I have to agree with nitro on this one. If the patriots weren't confirmed cheaters I would put Brady higher but they are so it negates a lot of success, much like roid heads in baseball. They both have had the advantage of playing in very weak divisions too. Also, when was there a co-MVP? I am to lazy to look it up myself lol.

Crankbait Rod And Line Question
So really it is the floating characteristic of braid and the possible higher visibility as to why to use flouro. So if you could throw 6-8lb diameter braid would that offset the floating and visibility aspect enough? I have never used flouro other than leaders so sorry for all the questions. Obviously the sensitivity of braid is superior especially in a tight line situation.

The Road To The Super Bowl
I have to agree that AP is the MVP without question, even if he wasn't coming back from an injury but that makes his season even more unbelievable.

The Road To The Super Bowl
Usually after an ACL injury/repair it becomes your stronger knee. I think nitro hit it right in that we will never know what was said etc....so it is hard to make a call I wish RG the best and keep in mind Petersen has a history of fast recovery that is unseen even among elite athletes.

The Road To The Super Bowl
So either he was scared of cousins taking his job or scared of cousins blowing the game......lol both seem feasible to me

Meet And Greet On The Potomac August 24Th And 25Th
I'll try and make it but unfrotunately my weekend schedule is kind of fly by hte seat of my pants most times. I am a kayaker so it would just be me myself and I but i wouldn't be opposed to jumping in somone else's boat should the opportunity present itself. I can always use a break from paddling

Briery Creek Lake...
Probably out fish everyone on the lake I have learned a lot reading his posts that is for sure

The Road To The Super Bowl
I saw the article abotu the initial injury and it seems like since RG avoided both the coach and the doctor they both thought the other cleared him to go in which he did, on his own.... I like the fire in RG but he also needs to get a little more brain power too.

Briery Creek Lake...
I have the brush clamp and the remaining stationary part isn't that bad. It is more of the paddling back to the ramp against the wind after fishing all day that gets to me I have been there and had to fight 20+ MPH winds and it is not that much fun but it does keep you on your toes since you have to avoid all the dead heads but at least now with my commander i don't have to worry about getting a limb caught in my scupper.

Briery Creek Lake...
I am debating on hitting there on saturday myself as i have not been out there for any witner fishing yet. The only thing i do know is that it always seems to be windy out there no matter what the weather forecast says which in a kayak can be somewhat problematic at times.

Fishing One Day With Any Pro, Who Would It Be And Why
If i could fish with Anyone it would be Jerry Mckinnis. His show the fishin' hole was the one show i would watch as a kid about fihsing and he always looked like he was having so much fun no mater the species. I can learn a lot from the pros but i don't tournament fish or have a boat to run and gun across a lake so it just isn't as appealing to me. Another one would be Doug Hannon. i remember watching him scuba dive to observer tha bass and i thought that was such a great approach. As far as pros go it would be Rick Clunn or Paul Elias since they both have been around forever and are still winning and competing at a high level.
