Anyone Else Find Spinning Reels To Be Super Awkward?
Maybe it's the way your holding the rod, I found for me the most comfortable way is to put the mounting stem in the middle, with 2 fingers on top, the other 2 on the bottom. This seems to give me the most control and feels the best. I switch back and forth between a spinning and baitcaster it take me several cast to get the technique correct. I even have this issue when switching between spinning rods sometimes too. I find it easier to fish with a spinning combo, cast retrieve without switching hands. Think it's what your use to and the other is just new. So practice, practice and I'll be it will come to you. Also experiment as to how your holding the rod till you find a position that is comfortable for you.

Braid & Loops
I took some line off the spool and have fished it 2 nights now and haven't had any more problems. So it appears that I had to much line on the spool. Thanks to everyone for all the suggestions

Yo-Zuri Ultra Soft
I know there are a lot of fans of Yo-Zuri line here, I am also a big fan but am having a hard time finding it. I like the Ultra Soft on my spinning reels. My local BP only has clear in #10 and up spools I would like to get some #6 mist green. Checked Tackle Warehouse and I think the lightest they have is #8. Any other good sources for it? I have never used YZ in anything but the mist green is clear the preferred color? Thanks

Braid & Loops
Interesting theory, sounds like it would make it worse, but so does pressing hard with your thumb and cranking a baitcaster to clear a birdsnest. I'll have to give it a try too, thanks for thetip. Sound like an interesting guy to fish with and absorb so of his knowledge. Have fun!!

A Cheap Way To Raise Worms
I was raising European Night crawlers for a while in a Rubbermaid been in the basement. Used peat moss and shredded newspaper for the bedding. At first I fed them kitchen scraps but it seemed to draw critters so I switched to Purina Worm Chow or I made my own out of corm meal and oatmeal, put them in the grinder and made a powder out of it also added some egg shells for grit and calcium This was going pretty good as the ENC's will reproduce as long as there is enough room to support them. I stopped fishing with live bait so I pretty much don't do much with them now. Still have some I think but haven't been down to check lately.

Braid & Loops
Not sure what happened tonight, was casting fine and retreiving with no issues. Got a bit and the fish started to run so I sweep back the rod a little to put some tension on it and the line broke. From the looks of it this happened just past the spool. I didn't think there were any issues when I got it untangled this morning but who knows. So now there won't be as much line on the spool so we'll see if I had to much line on the spool, it was pretty close to the edge on the bottom of the spool, the top was fine.

Braid & Loops
Should have mentioned that I use KVD L&L before each outing and when respooling, Wasn't really windy, maybe a light breeze. The reel is a Pflugar President 30. The above comments got me thinking, the rod is rated for 1/4 - 5/8 oz lures. The one I am throwing may be just a little lighter than the 1/4 oz it's a 3/32 with a half a 7" Zman Feniese worm on it (aka Ned's rig). I have the same setup on a 7' Med/Fast St Croix rod with a Lews 300 reel, but the braid is #30 Tufline or something like that. It's doesn't cast well at all using the same jig. Guess I need to pay more attention to when and how this is happening. Thanks

Braid & Loops
I put some braid on my spinning reel. I used a mono backer then put the #10 Sufix 832 braid on then a 16' Fluorocarbon leader. I have this on a 6'6" Med/Fast rod. For the most part it fishes very well and is really sensitive. The issue I keep having is that I get loops and by this I mean that instead of the line coming off as it should it is coming off in 2 different places. This creates the loop and it is sort of like a backlash on a baitcaster but instead of being on the spool it's just the line itself. If I'm careful I can get it squared away by keeping it separated and pulling it off the spool until only one strand is coming off. This is okay as long as the loop(s) don't get knotted up. Never had this issue with mono or Fluorocarbon or any of the copolys. What am I missing here? I cast then close the bail by hand. It's such a pain that I'm about ready to go back to mono or copoly. Thanks

Need Help Picking New Eqiupment Lew's Pro Speed Or Shimano Chronarch 200E In Next 24 Hours Please Help
Can't compare the 2 but I have a Lews Tournament Speed Spool and it is a great reel no complaints with it at all. I also have a Lews Speed Spool is it's a good reel too but does not have the dual braking system. Don't think you can go wrong with the Lews.

Trade Off Of Fluoro And Braid
I have always used mono and recently have tried some of the copoly stuff like Yozuri & Pline Flouroclear, I think I like the Yozuri better, I use the Ultra as it's on a spinning reel. For mono I like Sufix Elite. I tried straight Flouro and didn't have a good experience as I didn't have it spooled correctly, respooled and it was much better, Segar InvisX. Had a sample spool of #30 braid so I tired it and really liked the sensitivity but it didn't cast very far. But to be fair I was using a light lure. Now I have some Sufix 832 #10 spooled with a 16' fluoro leader. Haven't fished it yet so I can't comment on how I like it or if I do.

Stupid Question About Fish/depth Finders
I really don't know how to read a fish finder yet but I do have 2 on my jon boat. One is the rear that I use to mainly depth. In the front I have a down imaging one with a little bigger screen. The head unit is connected to a transducer which is what picks up the information in the water and sends it to the head unit. Normally the head units are removable but the transducer is mounted to the boat in the back. In my setup the front transducer is mounted to the trolling motor which is on the front in my jon. There are also units that clamp to the gunnels of a jon boat too. They will need to be wired to a 12v power source.

One-Hand Versus Two-Hand Casting.
I have always cast my spinning reels with one hand but was never very good or accurate. I would end up casting in a high arc or the lure would hit the water 10' in front of me. I started using both hands and my casting improved almost instantly. There are times that I will still cast with one hand but it seems that since I have been using 2 hands that even casting with one has improved too.
