  1. You could also use Phatch which is software that will do a ton of things to a photo.I use it all the time to make photos more web friendly.
  2. If we're talking an android phone I use 1Weather. It seems to be very accurate and isn't a resource hog. The only issue I have is it doesn't follow me anymore, in the apps defense more han likely it the settings on my phone. I keep most of the location stuff turned off. I have tried many of the weather apps thru the years, on some I had issues with the permissions they required to deliver the weather such as access to contacts.
  3. I get my bifocal stickons at Amazon, they're by Zcifi
  4. I use braid on all my spinning reels, most of the time with a fluro leader. Braid is much thinner than mono or fluro, for that matter. I think I started catching more fish since I switched to braid. When switched so did my fishing buddy and he thinks the same thing. I know one thing I don't loose as many lures as when I was using mono, many times I can horse it out where with mono it would break off when I starting tugging on it.
  5. A lot depends on the attitude of the person asking, I have a fishing buddy that I met on a local pond we share information all the time and even trade baits. Some one who sees me catch a fish and comes over and decides to fish next to me isn't going to get squat from me except maybe an attitude. I have helped numerous people & also sought advice. Usually I will just ask someone if they're biting, which doesn't always mean anything. A lot of it comes down to throwing what the fish want and how they want to see it. My buddy and I can next to one another and throw the same bait and maybe he'll catch fish and I won't or vice a versa. I don't mind sharing when the situation warrants it.
  6. In the boat I have mp3 player & a battery powered speaker that I got at Walmart. It zips open so the mp3 player fits inside. If I'm by myself I will normally have music playing, but not blasting so the whole world can hear it.
  7. I have been trying to teach myself for about 4 months now. Fingers are just starting to learn where to go so I guess it will come in time. Started with an electric that a friend gave me. Decided to get an acoustic as it is more portable and liked the sound of the acoustic better so that's what I play the most. My favorite style is bluegrass and traditional country. Need to practice more.............
  8. That was interesting to say the least. Thanks for sharing
  9. Had mine mounted on the trolling motor and didn't care for it. Everytime I turned the image would start over. I have down scan graph. To counter act this I mounted the transducer on it's own mount I made out of an old trilling motor.
  10. Tonight I was using a 1/0 offset worm hook with good results.
  11. Interesting question, doing the same here. Was wondering the same thing
  12. I am another Pflueger fan, I started buying Trions then decided to try the President. At that point I was/hooked and started replacing the Trions with Presidents. Now I have 3 Purist that I bought at Dunn's for $39.88. I have one Abu Garcia that I found and it doesn't measure up to my Pflueger's. The only difference I can find between the President & the Purist is the drag. The President uses a wet felt drag & the Purist a carbon fiber. Pflueger reels rule!
  13. Can't wait to get these to see how they do. How is everyone rigging them? I know Gene is using the weighted hooks to make them fall flat.
  14. Put the Curado E on the 7'10" rod and see what happens. I have never done it but I have heard of people who will take a new reel & clean it & relube before ever using it. Seems many are over lubed at the factory maybe to help protect them from rust in transit, who knows. It would never hurt to clean & lube the reel to your specs and see what happens. Remember grease on gears & oil (just a drop) in bearings. All this being said we will assume you have the reel tension set for the lure your throwing.
  15. I've been buying Pflueger Purist spinning reels for $39.88 at Dunn's Sporting Goods
  16. Darn I just placed an order last week & I didn't see them, thabks
  17. I'm lucky I have a friend that has a tig and he'll weld stuff for Mr if I furnish the beer. One of the tricks is the area has to be real clean. He has a stainless steel brush that he only uses on aluminum he is going to weld. I have seem alumiweld at car shows and such it looks good and might try it on a hole or something but I don't think I would use it for a cracked transom.
  18. I would like to try those but haven't be able to find them
  19. You can get a Pflugar Purist for $39.88 at www.shopdunns.com which is a step above the President. I have mine on a mh Odyssey rod I bought for $20, on sale, spooled with #10 braid and a fluro leader. I can feel all but the lightest bites. I think sensitivity is more the rod/line than the reel, but the better reels are smoother an much nicer to fish with.
  20. Welcome bassresource.com, to bad about the boat. Bank fishn' isn't all that bad I do it all the time.

I bought a bag of UV worms the other day after seeing them under a black light. I Texas rigged it and did catch a fish on it.
  22. Got one of those and I clip it to my belt with a Niteze S hook. The blades will go dull after awhile, but you can buy replacement blades at their website. Mine doesn't have the light.
  23. Good advice also BPS has this really neat little pic to help with backlashes. Fits in your procket.
  24. Great place I learned a ton there when I bought my 1st tin boat. Lots of pictures of builds.
  25. Welcome back what part of STL you living?
