  1. Some nice looking smallies. That pretty blue Mississippi water sure doesn't look like the Mississippi in from of the Arch.
  2. I have heard that putting moth balls in the boat would did courage vermin.
  3. I actually have more spinning than I do casting. I have a 6'4" St Croix but it was born as a 6'6"
  4. I personally don't pay attention to them. Have proven to me to be correct. I say go fishing, taking into account for weather & water temp and fix accordingly. Good luck
  5. I have both 832 & PP Slick 8 on my spinning reels. Both work well, the Slick 8 is a little quoted and might cast a hair further. At my local tackle shop S8 is a couple of bucks cheaper too.
  6. I've used both Yo-Zuri & McCoys and they are both good lines. The Yo-Zuri seems to be a little harder to find, at least in all sizes.
  7. Some of the spinning reels are still on sale. Bought a Fenwick Elite Tech Smallmouth yesterday. https://www.krugerfarms.com/fishing/spinning-rods/1298.html
  8. Congrats, nice fish. Your right this is a great place to learn a technique.
  9. Not every senior is electroniclly challenged, some of us can hold our. I probably have more electronic devices than he average guy, including a SonorPhone. I'm 68 btw.

  11. Never try to walk & chew bubblegum when looking at pretty women, the outcome is never good.
  12. Great story and an exciting 21 minutes, not to mention the free boat ride. Nice catch Goose.
  13. Not putting any of my info on there even for a chance to win tackle.
  14. Guess I'm out, don't do facebook
  15. Good stuff like others have said. I spray the line as I'm spooling it. Put it on a qtip and use it to clean the guides. Also helps with water spots when sprayed on graph screen. The other day I was putting a swivel on some #40 braid, sprayed the knot before tightening & it slide right down and tightened up real nice. Worked better than the normal spit.
  16. Wouldn't mind seeing some pic
  17. Could put a toliet paper tube on a drill and use it to unspool the reels. Then just spool it back to the reel you want.
  18. If they catch fish their good no matter who makes them.
  19. I would say she's on the right
  20. Bought one about a year ago after trying a couple of DYI ones. Works great like others have said I'd buy another I'd I broke this one. I think mine is branded by BPS.

It cast okay, it's just awkward to cast which could be me. I have an old 40 Pflueger Trion that I was thinking of trying just need to spool it up.
  22. Not sure which one geo was talking about but here's some http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Navigation?storeId=10151&catalogId=10051&langId=-1&searchTerm=hook+remover

I bought a T-Pod which looks like a giant bobber and transfers a sonar signal to my Android phone via wifi.had it out a couple of time at the local pond. The thing weighs like 2.4 oz and about the size of a racket ball. I'm trying to figure out the best way to cast it. I have an 8' mh ugly stick catfish rod that came with a 50 size reel. This setup is real ouckward to cast. So I'm trying to figure out how to get it out in the water. I'm thinking it might be better with a smaller reel. Any ideas?
