If you get a bad backlash with braid, you either need a line pic or you may have to cut some of the line from your spool... If you can cast mono it really shouldn't be a problem, put it on one setup first and experiment with it and if you like it than you can expand your horizons as far as braid is concerned.

Yes, you can't tell from the photo but I use Gambler little EZs as chatterbait trailers... The color of the KVD was natural perch, she inhaled it alright!

Just north of you guys... Got my first good fish today on a KVD 2.5, she weighed 4lbs 6oz

The only things that have worked for me are chatterbaits and squarebills as of now. I've prob got around 15 on a chatterbait and 10 on squarebills... Here is a pic of a chatterbait fish and my biggest fish of the year at 4lbs 6oz on a KVD squarebill that I landed today! - There was some blood, she really inhaled it, but she swam off really strong! Just added some more pics from this morning... Caught them on a flipping jig, swim jig, squarebill, and chatterbait

Well I had success this afternoon landing my biggest fish of the year at 4lbs 6oz on a KVD 2.5 natural perch squarebill!!! She choked it, bled a little but swam off strong! And I'm pretty sure Fly Fisherman got it on his GoPro, some editing is needed.... I did let some profanity slip LOL
