  2. Last month had great results! We did run into a few issues as far as measuring the fish though. The rules for measuring the fish is going to be simple, THE ENTIRE fish must be in the photograph for it to take credit for all the inches claimed in the photo. For example... if I entered this fish claiming it was was 16" it would only count for 11.5" (what is visible in the photo). When you have the bass on the tape measure it will be measured from the tip of it's lip to the END of the tail. Whether this is the wrong or right way of measuring the fish it is an easy and quick way to measure, photograph, and then release the bass. Once again it is a friendly competition, it is for fun and to share the love of bass fishing!!! I will provide a prize to the winner, thank you Shane for providing it last month... The prize has not been decided yet, i'll continue to think... If there is any critical points I missed let me know... If anyone is new this month here is a link to last months contest it has the layout of the competition... http://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-forums/topic/122653-whos-wants-in/ Hope to see some pigs soon!
  3. Sorry, I have been away from the site for a bit school just started up which means school work and school sports (soccer and bass team). I'll start up a new thread tonight.. Congrats to Shane and MARs! Hoping to do a LOT better this month even though my time will be limited. See you guys in the other thread and hope to see some more PIGS!!!
  4. I'm not saying it won't work just my explanation on spinnerbait colors tending to be brighter than jigs
  5. The bright colors like chartreuse are you used for spinnerbait because bluegill, shad, or baitfish will have a glimmer like that. A swimjig may be fine, but when fishing right on the bottom I'd be imitating a crawfish more often then not. Even if you were using a bluegill imitation maybe that chartreuse wouldn't be as visible lower in the water column.
  6. WOW, swwweeettt!!!
  7. We fished one tourney last year, the first in NH... We are in for the qualifying tourney and hopefully making it to the state championship
  8. I was thinking carp... Would gar be a stretch considering it was a community pond?
  9. I'm asking to go here as a graduation present!
  10. I started a team last year and did so by contacting and meeting with my athletic director.
  11. Events like this drive me to get back on the water and get a HAWG!
  12. Hard to tell on weight i would get between 2 and 3.5 lbs
  13. Nice my PB fish was this 5lbs 11oz spook fish for about 6 months... Great job man!
  14. It was real cloudy so we couldn't see down there, very clear lake though... it's like an hour away by car, then it is a 20 to 30 min paddle to get on spoonwood... The fishing is great though!
  15. Thanks Shane but I won't need to borrow it, just stinks that I got to buy new stuff...
  16. Yeah exactly... We always where our life jackets on the canoe!
  17. Fishing was good today, lots of 2 pound smallies biggest being 3lbs 3oz. The trip was ruined though, we flipped my canoe... I lost all the rod and reel setups i brought, my cell phone, and some baits... It could have been worse but it really really sucks... Prob lost $250 worth of stuff...
  18. I saw a bald eagle catch a smallmouth a few days ago on the paddle over to spoonwood...
  19. Spoonwood smallies... top photo me with a 2lbs 0 oz, the bottom is Fly_Fisherman with a 2lbs 3oz... The craziest thing ended up happening, I hooked into a smallie which i was unaware of because I was doing something else on the boat and it jumped up and spit the hook. We saw the fish and second after it did its jump and spit my hook fly fisherman got him. Weight was 2lbs 10oz but after it was weighed it got into the water without a photo.
  20. I'be heard of a 21.5" smallie as well
