  1. Nothing beats a brokn back rapala for smallies in a river with some current! The one in the pic below was small but caught using a broken back rapala... We caught some real nice smallies prob in the 2 to 2.5 pound range... T
  2. I wanna get after some smallies this weekend, anyone wanna give me some ideas on where to head to... Live in Milford would like to keep the drive about an hour or less...
  3. Hey guys I wanna get after some smallmouth this weekend and was wondering if any of you would share some spots that you like that hold smallies. Thanks
  4. Thanks, a relatively cheap setup for fishing for stripers from rivers or really anywhere excluding beachfront that I use is a 7'6 cabelas sea striker with any reel. A good one paired with this rod is a quantum blue runner... very cheap reel and gets the job done. If you fishing from beachfront I would throw a 10' to 11' rod, personally I'm 5'8 so I throw a 10' if your bigger you can throw an 11' or even a 12' -those get tiring though... Favorite baits... Yozuri crystal minnows, diawa sp minnows, savage gear anything, any type of topwater plugs -pencil poppers, poppers, types of wakebaits... Bucktail jigs, etc...
  5. Got 4 Daiwa SP Minnows and some hand crafted plugs...
  6. I was fishing for stripers in the cape cod canal and ran in to this guy. I had never caught one nor had I seen one in person. It was a pretty neat fish...
  7. My dad caught a 15 oz pumpkinseed last year ( the state record is 13 oz I believe)... Caught lots of small largemouth this weekend, on Saturday I got a black sea bass... I'll post a photo later...
  8. Yo zuri hybrid and seaguar senshi...
  9. My dad and I drove about an hour and a half to fish, we got the conoe in the water with the lifejackets, anchor, tacklebox, etc... When we wanted to begin fishing we looked at eachother and realized we had forgotten our rods, not in the car... at home....
  10. Went to rocky for about 3 hours... 3 people each with 10 fish between 1 and 2 pounds...
  11. If the water is moving and there are smallies throw a broken back Rapala.... You will not be disappointed!
  12. Great catches man!
  13. Nice man... Picked mine up last week...
  14. Just to clarify, my friend caught that when we were fishing earlier, not me... It is a gorgeous fish though! And I am too trying to break through the poundage barrier, I need a 6. The one in my avatar pic is 5oz off... This year my biggest LMB was this 3 pounder, and biggest smallies were these 2 pound 5 oz and 2 pound 1 oz... I really wanna get on those big girls soon...
