  4. Taking a break from the freshwater action this week. Heading to the Cape Cod Canal tonight and staying overnight to fish the morning as well... Ill post my results and hopefully have some photos.
  5. I saw the SAME EXACT THING!!!! It was about 3 or 4 weeks ago... In the place I witnessed this it has a dense population of algae, when I saw the bass it was sitting still near a similar color algae or gunk that was coating the fish... Perhaps it just hung out in an area where algae was being produced and therefore the algae began to grow on the fish... It's very bizarre... interesting as well since we saw the same exact thing and I'm in NH and you are locaterd in TN...
  6. Nope, I know of mine and a buddy landed a 6.1 this year and has seen 8s.... The fish in my avatar was caught there and weighs like 2 oz more.
  7. Got out for a quick run after school for about an hour and a half...
  8. Catch some big stipers with those!
  9. I know it doesn't count, just wanted to share... My friend caught a 5.57 here in NH, record is like 10 pound 8 oz
  10. Heck yeah! I was 5oz off last fall, Really want to get a 6 pounder this year... Flyfisherman, our other friend, and I all wanna break the six barrier this year. My PB is 5-11 The kid in the photo above PB 5.57, close to 5-8 or 5-9 Flyfisherman is a little over 6 already I believe, not to sure... My lacrosse season just ended... I play 3 sports in the 3 sports seasons for school...
  11. Today after school we landed a few bass....My best was between 2.5 and 3 pounds and my friend caught his PB, 5.57lbs!!!
  12. Started with this.... Then this.... (close to 3) Then this!!!!!!!!!! 5.57 POUNDERRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My friends new PB!!!
  13. Going out today after school... No more lacrosse practice = more fishing!!!! ~I'll post my results...
  14. I use a 7' 6" when fishing the Cape Cod Canal and other rivers... When fishing from the surf I would suggest a 10', if you really like your 10' you can use it where ever.... My dad has a baitrunner and uses it for swimming plugs and what not all the time with no issue, that is in rivers and the canal. He has a much bigger set up for surf, I think a 12' rod (not sure of the reel), the rod will usually tire him out after a few hours thats why I would suggest a 10'. ~A topwater plug is probably your best bet for finding stripers from shore, you can cast them a mile and they will get slammed if fish are around...
  15. WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thats What I'm talking about, great smallie!!!
  16. Don't believe there are any pike in the lake I was fishing...
  17. Caught this one accidentally in a tourney... My biggest...
  18. I'm glad my dad took me fishing when I was young, now I'm absolutley obsessed!!!
  19. Minus the smallie pattern it looks like a sunfish on steroids!!!!
  20. Here are some pics from the past two days of fishing... We hit Potanipo, Sunset, Zephyr, and Powder Mill... Powder Mill didn't produce any bass for us, all other spots did well. Sunset had no fish over 1.5 pounds on saturday though. (The last pic is from a week or two ago, it shows the gut)....
