  1. I have laid aside business, and gone a'fishing." -Izaak Walton
  2. My most productive crank by FAR.
  3. I love Cavitron Buzz baits, and honestly thought they had one in half ounce as well as one with a clacker. I'll have to recheck them tonight when I get home. I have about a dozen in different colors. I would like to try out the scent, but I am leary of the tube. I have the tendency to leave things in my car on a hot day, and don't really want to find a burst megastrike tube in the back seat. Can't imagine how long the stink would last...

  5. Yeah, spend the same amount of money upgrading hooks and replacing it when the paint flakes off or the body splits as you could on one Xrap or Rebel that will last five times as long? I can see the sense in that. I got the 6 pack of blaze lures for Christmas last year. They are cheaper and more brittle than Renegade lures. The only use I have found for the ones that haven't broken apart is practicing my lure painting skills...
  6. Here is a great post from my favorite bass blog about going barbless: http://www.bigindianabass.com/big_indiana_bass/barbless-hook-thoughts.html
  7. I'd sooner invest in some of those budweiser bottle spoons.
  8. I was thinking snapping turtle.
  9. ^Sounds similar to a rapala knot... I use a clinch knot and never have problems. Sometimes I do a palomar, but I do a lot of fishing in the dark and the clinch is much easier for me.
  10. Lord of the Rings (It's really just one big movie...) Highlander Kick-***! (I couldn't believe how much I liked this, ultra violent, not for the faint of heart.) The Empire Strikes Back Clerks I'm surprised so many people are listing the boondocks saints in their top 5...
  11. There's a brand new site on the web, it's so new some of you might not have heard about it, but they sell tons of old (and new) stuff that you can't find anywhere else. It's called Ebay.
  12. My money is on the Zoom Speed Craw.
  13. Also, never saw any white residue whatsoever.
  14. I have not had a single problem with the bottle being tough to squeeze, or with the stuff drying out. I bought a bottle last summer, and estimate that I have saved over a hundred bucks just on the senkos and sweet beavers I've ressurected. I've used it for everything and it's saved me tons of cash. It won't work on the 'Elaztech' stretchy plastic, but should work with just about everything else. Well, not gulp... Plus, you can use it to make cool new baits... You can add arms and legs from one bait to another. It's really fun to experiment with.
  15. I fish cranks from shore all the time and haven't lost a single on this season, and maybe only two all of last year.... I tried a plug knocker, but could hardly ever get it down to the bait from shore. Tried the telescoping pole too, doesn't work so great either. I have just started to swim or wade for my lures if I can't work them out using the 'bow and arrow' technique. Works every time.
  16. I have the skeet reese worm/jig rod, and love it. It is excellent, I use it mostly as a spinnerbait/crankbait rod though. I would also mention to take a look at some St Croix rods...
  17. Terminator Green White Willow leaf spinnerbait. Cavitron Black Buzzbait RC1.5 Blue Back/Chartreuse Baby Brush Hog Blackberry Zoom Trickwork Junebug
  18. Yeah, I have dragonflies in my area with chartreuse stripes on their backs, so that color works all the time.
  19. Excellent Baits! I forgot about them... They have been in the bargain bins at Cabella's and Gander recently.
  20. A giant 7-11 coffee, a bag of Doritos, and a Zero bar...
  21. Rapala DT series will give you the best in affordability, durability and will hook a lot of fish... Bagley's (if you can find them) are still killers for me. KB1s and BB2s, but durability is a concern. Catching Concepts are a cedar bait, but they are as good as any Bagley IMO - as far as I know, they are only available on ebay for about 10 bucks a pop, but they are super-durable.
