Strike King/KVD Perfect Plastics
I bought some of these the other day, and can't wait to throw them out there. I got the Ocho and the Game Hawg. I'm going back for some Caffeine shads and Rodents next paycheck. Has anyone been using these? They're at least as soft and salty as Yamamoto baits, and come scented with Strike King's Coffee Scent. The colors are sweet too. I wish I had grabbed the Rodents before I got the Game Hawg bait - I'm a huge fan of Beaver-Style baits... Anyone have any experience with any of these???

Suspending Cranks?
Bagley has a new plastic Killer B that suspends. I have two of them, they work well. Colors are pretty cool too.

Space Monkey Surprise
I've had mixed results on the stuff that I've tried. I like the looks of the baits, but not the prices. I haven't caught *anything* on the Rage Craw in the same places Power Craws are working. I did ok on the lizard, but noticed no different results compared to zoom lizards so far. The Rage Shad is good (and fun to watch) but I prefer a buzzbait - better hooksets. The Rage Frog is Excellent, but I can get similar/same results on cheaper baits. Haven't tried the Space Monkey yet. Bought, but haven't tried the Anaconda yet - But I am really looking forward to this one. The Strike King line of plastics that excites me is the KVD line. They are a little cheaper than rage tail baits, and so far the lures are nothing innovative, but are solid fish catchers.

crankbaits for dirty florida water
Try a Bagley Bulgin B wake bait.

Gambler Cane Toads
They're my fav too. Sizmic Toad is a close second. I have really good luck letting these toads fall slowly and working them off the bottom.

How to Fish Dark Water
Spinnerbait with colorado blades. I fish this kind of water a lot, and the thumping of the colorado blades makes it easy for the bass to find the lure.

Mend-It Experiments
I've done it both ways, and it definitely works better with just applying the glue on one side. The senkos are going together really easily for me. As easy as the zoom... Beavers and flirts by Reaction Innovations really glue easily too.... I'm gonna try the lake fork shads later on... I also want to try it on the 3x plastic just to see what it does.

Mend-It Experiments
There are worse things to be stuck to. LOL That would be like putting on Icy Hot down there... It doesn't stick to skin though so it should be alright. Also, it seems to work well on heavy salt baits too. Haven't tried the senkos, but the Beavers glue up really nicely...

Mend-It Experiments
I got my order of Mend-it in the mail yesterday, and last night i played with it for about two hours. I like it. But I don't love it. It is a better a better product than superglue. It is easier and far less dangerous than using a cigarette lighter. But the cost is much higher than either of the other two solutions. I tried it on several different brands of soft plastic. I used Gander Mountain brand plastics, Zoom, Yum, Berkley, and Sluggos. So far it works best, for me, on the Zoom baits and the Lunker City sluggos. I cut 5 different colored trick worms in half and mended them together in differing color combinations. All mends took with no problem. I then let them cure for about 10 minutes and tested how they held. I expected they would break at the cut. Three did, two did not. Either way though, they held the zooms together very well. I then did the same with Yum dingers. Each bond held well. But each one of these re-broke at the bond spot. This could be problematic since usually I tear these in the middle where the wacky rig hook goes. But I'll retest at the lake. Berkley (camo finesse worm) and Gander (their version of a sweet beaver) were hit and miss. I had trouble making some of the bonds hold together. I tried to think if I was doing something differently, but couldn't think of anything I did different with the Zooms. The bonds that did take were as strong as the Yums were. These two baits were frustrating to work with. Lastly I took some old 3.5 inch sluggos and glued them together the same way I did the trick worms. Same results as the Zooms too. Tonight I am going to get brave and test it out on my Lake Fork Live Magic Shads, some Senkos, and Sweet Beavers I'll post results

Ebay Alternative: New Fishing Tackle Auction Site
It's going to be growing according to the guys that started it. Some of their sold stuff has gone for a lot. Matt Lures hard perch, some 3:16 stuff... If it tanks, no biggie, but if it grows, then very cool - especially for those that sell lures who are sick of 'FEEbay'...

Ebay Alternative: New Fishing Tackle Auction Site
Check out My Old Fishing Tackle.com, found it on a fishing blog that I visit every so often. The site is new, and isn't anywhere close to Ebay yet, but with enough time, maybe it will be a good alternative. Note, I am in no way affiliated with this site. Not trying to spam or break any rules... http://www.myoldtackle.com/cgi-bin/auction/auction.pl

I just ordered Mend-it... It should save me a small fortune just in Beavers, Senkos, and LF Magic Shads if it works.

Minimalist Lure Experiment
I am conducting a lure experiment this spring/summer. Last summer, I caught almost all of my fish on 10 different lures. 1 Terminator Spinnerbait Green/White Tandem Willow 1 Gold 1 Silver 2 Terminator Spinnerbait Green/White Tandem Colorado 1 Gold 1 Silver 3 Cavitron Buzzbait Green/White Red Prop 4 Booyah Buzzbait Black Red Prop 5 Sweet Beaver Roadkill 6 Zoom Ole Monster 10 Inch Worm Junebug 7 Bass Assassin Charm Assassin (similar to a trick worm) 8 Megabass Griffon Color: Crack Jungle 9 RC1.5 Blue Scale over Chartreuse 10 Bandit 100 Chartreuse back over White body So far this year, I have only been fishing a few times, and these are the same baits that are working for me now, and I suspect over the summer. So the experiment is this: I am going to put these 10 baits in their own small tackle box, and use only two rods, and try (TRY) to fish only these all season long. I will compare my numbers to last year, and hopefully the data will finally open my eyes knock the damm bait monkey off my back...

Small Bass Torture?
Something will eat it and benefit from it... And the smarter ones will not strike your bait and the species will be better served overall. I wouldn't worry about it too much.
