  1. Cool, thanks for the info. My Gander has 6/0 and 7/0, I'll grab a couple of packets next time there.
  2. Is 5/0 ewg gammy too small do you think? It looks a little small to me.
  3. I don't have a pic, sorry. I looked for one online somewhere, but couldn't find anything. BassRaider, something I was thinking of was that this bait is like having 2 in 1... I can fish an entire bag as a worm, or bite off the tail and have a 6 inch senko to use... I picked up a bag in every color last night.
  4. I was in the ol' Gander MT and picked up some of their store brand soft plastics. I found some 10 inch worms that look rather unique, they have the body style of a 6inch senko with a long, thick ribbon tail. The color selection is not vast, but they have the basics covered. I can't wait to try these, does anyone have any experience with them?
  5. They sink after a few good uses...
  6. I bought the same baits at Dick's, and like them. They are decently made, but the hooks suck. You can snap them just by squeezing them with your bare hands.
  7. Don't say it, Muddy. LOL My favorite way is weightless on a 3/0 or 4/0 straight shank hook. I prefer to Split the claw flaps in the front.
  8. Any Matzuo crankbaits. Complete Trash. Every single one of them. Okuma Spinning Reels. Every one of them have fallen apart after 1 season. Any Mann's crankbaits. Every Baby Minus bait I have ever bought has broken. Gulp! Catches everything but bass. Helicopter Lure. Catches nothing including bass. Hank Parker's/Mann's Undulater Lure. Nice and shiny waste of $5.
  9. Bagley Balsa B2 or B3 is hard to beat. And the DB3 deep diver will go down to at least 14 feet.
  10. I like Man vs Wild much more. Both shows give great advice and lessons, but I prefer Bear over Les. I never saw survivor man showing someone how to get out of a frozen lake or river, and then tell us what to do afterward like Bear has done several times. It is pretty cool that he was in the British Special Forces. Survivor man seems to plod through an episode, not finding much to eat, and is starving by the end of an episode. Bear always manages to find 'food'. Plus, survivor man gets tedious because he has to keep going back and getting his cameras.
  11. My cousin died of cancer last june, and she always said, you know I'll get to Heaven when you hear the thunder hit. It was drizzling on the day of her funeral and as we gathered around her for a final prayer after the service, a monstrous clap of thunder sounded. It was the only bit of thunder during the entire day. It reinforced my faith a little bit.
  12. Catching Concepts will replace any bait that won't tune. Do those Poe sellers guarantee the same?
  13. I bought a bunch of these last summer on clearance at Wal Mart, the price was right. I had a really good experience with them, didn't find that they dulled easily and were quite sharp right out of the package. Are these good hooks, or am I just loving the cheap price?
  14. I was having trouble with a hookset on a 3/0ewg so switched to a 4/0 straight shank owner because someone on here recommended it. It made all the difference for me.
  15. No problem. I get paid Friday, and I'm throwing some cash his way...
  16. We had a crankbait post on here a while ago that I couldn't find with a search. I think I was talking with Muddy about these lures... Anyway, the guy that makes them took a hiatus, but is back in business, on Ebay. These baits are excellent. The paint jobs are vibrant and original. The paint is resilient too. If you want a tough, custom bait that fishes very well and looks great, give this guy a try. I have four of his lures, and intend to get more. http://shop.ebay.com/merchant/catchingconceptslures_W0QQ_nkwZQQ_armrsZ1QQ_fromZQQ_mdoZ
  17. I hate you guys. It's going down to 4 degrees tonight in Winchester VA.
  18. If I hit the lottery or were otherwise rich, I'd buy a hundred of those. But, I ain't so...
  19. Parasite weights are a better option than the screw tops. The parasite weights rest on top of the worm, and have a metal loop that attaches from the bottom of the weight to the offset portion of the hook. They prevent damage to the bait, prevent it from sliding down the shank of the hook, and do not slide up and down the line. They do not require a toothpick or anything else that could crimp the line. They are awesome and come in lead or tungsten. They are a little pricey, but I will never use another type of weight for Florida rigging.
  20. It is a norman. They have them at the Gander Mt I live at.
  21. Close to DC, on the VA side, go anywhere on the upper Potomac from Scott's Run all the way up to Riverbend Park and you'll do good for Smallies. They're all over the place.
  22. http://cgi.ebay.com/Matzuo-Kamikazi-1-1-2oz-Spinnerbait-2-Blades-Muskie_W0QQitemZ390009388915QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?_trksid=p3286.m20.l1116 Just checked ebay, and they have the Matzuo baits on there... Check them out. Maybe this is the one you were talking about.
  23. Matzuo made a line of spinnerbaits that had colored blades with a holographic eye sticker on them. Unlike their cranks, the Matzuo spinnerbaits were very well put together. I have two or three left, and haven't seen them anywhere for a long time. I bought all of mine at one of those K-Marts that has a whole aisle of markdown fishing tackle...

That bait looks like a copy of the old Heddon Punkinseed, with a better finish... You can still find some Heddon Punkinseed recent re-issues on Ebay, and you can get six or seven of them for the price of that Japanese bait...
