  1. I just sold six hundred dollars worth of knives . Bucks , Case , Schrade , Queen ...My every day carry is a Swiss Army Knife "Hiker" and a Chinese SanRenMu for easy one handed access . The Sanrenmu is a decent knife and easily replaceable at only fifteen dollars . I'm on my third one. The last one I kicked overboard .
  2. I've had several of those six to seven hundred scores . I tried to pick some of the lower owned guys and was not very good at it .
  3. Big Game is inexpensive not cheap . 17 lb test Trilene xl in clear blue fluorescent is only .015 inches in diameter and very strong .
  4. Aint that the truth . He won the Sabine river one year and came in dead last the next time . I picked him .
  5. I have a feeling your going to ride Feider all year . I picked him a couple of times last year and it paid off . He catches them everywhere .
  6. I get my lineup in early , subject to change .
  7. I had success keeping a fingerling in a 55 gallon aquarium . He was a glutton and ate all the minnows I would put in there . I would buy a dozen minnows that were not that much smaller than it . I got tired of it and wanted to raise various creek minnows instead so released it in a pond . Crappie didnt do well at all . Drum , Channel cats and bullheads thrived . Sunfish were too aggressive . Sturgeons were adapting nicely until the sunfish sucked their eyeballs out . A single crawfish is a cool critter .Two crawfish, one will get eaten. There should be a hiding place for it for a for when it molts . I used a sea shell for a sanctuary .Every time a new fish was introduced , parasites were also added and the aquarium had to be treated .I enjoyed collecting local fish with seines. I plan on making it into a turtle tank next , with an island and waterfall .
  8. I learned how to fish by emulating the pros . I was not very good at it but still enjoyed fishing no matter haw many fishless hours I spent chasing little green fish . I eventually developed my own style and dont worry how the pros or Bass Resource members are catching bass .I still absorb all the info and if the situation arises to try something then I'll do it . My last trip in Dec I was getting skunked then I ran into a guy I know who was catching them . I felt like a bad angler that day but this guy clued me in on how to catch them and so I avoided the skunk .Like I said before , I'm not the greatest caster but have been working hard on it the last couple of years .After watching the pros this past weekend making bad cast and having backlashes maybe I'm not as bad as I thought .

Bryan New just won the St Johns Elite tournament on a weighted Texas rigged Zoom Zlinky stick worm . I t-rig them all the time . They are great fished like that .
  10. This new guy is giving a clinic .
  11. If they made Big Game in clear blue fluorescent , that would be my line of choice . I used the bright green on my carp and catfish rods and the carp didnt seem to be scared by it . I dont know how it behaves under water . I'm leery of it for bass . I have seen line shy bass .

All lures work . Texas rigged soft plastics excel where the bass like to hang out , snags . Keep putting them in the snags and pay attention to how it feels . If it feels funny or you feel a tap as the lure is dropping reel down and set the hook .
  13. There is a video of Randy Pierson , pulling a 6 lber over a walk-way , his rod snapping and the bass landing in his boat . Just go to Basstrakk Click on Randy Pierson and watch the first video .
  14. My 2020 vacation at Lake of the Ozarks was not ruined but hampered because my outboard would not run fast enough to get on plain .. Oh well . I learned the Little Niangua a lot that week and caught some bass .
  15. I'm pulling for Mark . I'm worried about his back holding up for the whole season . He said it hurt when he does a "swing and a miss" on a bass . Hes a good Ambassador of the sport .
  16. @Williep99 just curious , In case of a tie what is your final weight ?
  17. Its happened to me too .
  18. My usual two spots are 25 and 30 miles away .
  19. No prizes in this group , its not allowed .
  20. Fantasy Fishing is run by BASS . Its a big deal . Ronny Moore often has updates during the coverage . He was almost apologetic when Clunn just screwed over 40 percent of the participants . I imagine there will be a rule change on the scoring of Fantasy Fishing next season so this doesnt happen again . By the way , I benefited from him not showing up . I got 267 points more than the 40 percent who selected him . Hes done this on at least two other occasions .
  21. A-Jay solved the mystery . It resembles a Pico Perch . I have a few . Mine do not have Swimmin Minnow molded on them. Good lures by the way . I have caught lots of bass with them .
  22. I think I have one some place that I found . Dont know what color it is . I'll try to locate it later .
  23. I didnt know weighing in fish was abuse of equipment . Ronnie Moore with BASS was talking about it and you could hear in his voice that he was disappointed . Its not a team sport but it is an organization.
  24. I learned that lesson too , a few years back . The fans wat too see him too . Being the St. Johns has been good to him , the least he can do is make an appearance and tip his hat .
