  1. I feel bad inside . He will be missed .
  2. Bright lime green . I've only had a few packs in my life and they never lasted long . The first ones were Fliptails . The others I dont know the brand . That color is hard to find but when I do , I buy them .
  3. I remember buying my first shakey heads . I did not know what a shakey head was , just thought it was a neat design . I rigged 6 inch jelly worms on them and fished just like a Texas rig . It caught bass , especially river smallmouths . Thats the way I still use them .
  4. Roland has 9 Bass Angler of the year titles . KVD 7 and Clunn 1 . I rate the angler of the year higher than classic wins .
  5. Any time I'm searching open , deep water I have a buoy handy . As soon as I hook up I toss it out . I want to stay right there , sometimes there is a concentration of bass and it doesnt take long to drift off the spot .
  6. I use them all the time but not at that depth . 30 to 35 foot is as deep as I go and yes they stay in place unless my boat drifts on top of it or a lure tangles in it .
  7. Any debate that omits Roland as the greatest tournament bass angler ever is being biased for some reason .
  8. I use them . After the spawn when the bass have been hammered with spinnerbaits for a couple of months I usually switch to dull skirts and sometimes copper blades . I use the secondary blade in copper a lot .
  9. I think the color got its start in the Harry and Charlie cartoons published in Bassmaster . Their favorite lure was was a 12 inch scuppernong jelly worm . I bought some 6 inch jelly worms in that color but they are to stiff and hard to use . I never had jelly worms like that before .
  10. Off the subject a bit . I often fish a ball head jig straight down but the eye is not turned like this one . When fished straight down I pull the knot tight to the rear of the eye so the bait hangs horizontal in the water not on an incline . It makes a difference . I discovered this while crappie fishing in brush as a kid . Probably read it in a magazine as I devoured every fishing article I got my hands on .
  11. When a local lake became saturated with algae , I had no choice but to try something new . I jumped on the toad and frog band wagon because it was a necessity . Now with the introduction of grass carp in those waters the toads and frogs are not as productive while the spinnerbaits made a comeback . Lures are tools , select the right tool for the job .New lures that I have used in the past few years because they filled a niche are frogs and toads The Red Eye Shad because on that shimmy on the drop Suspending jerk baits . I have not been a big jerk bait user in the past but they are sneaking in there
  12. I have some Lee Sissions new in package .I opened one and tried it and didnt care for the wide , slow action much .
  13. I like the old Bagleys Honey B's and balsa B's . The problem with them though were they were not very sturdy and the bass and I {with poor casting}would tear them up rather quickly . Though not a square bill I still throw the Rapala Fat Raps considerably .
  14. I'll try a new technique or lure if it fits the puzzle but not just to be doing something different . Lets take Carolina rigs for example . I never fished one before but I was wanting a way to fish deep flats quickly ; so I tried a C rig to do just that , not because it was something new to me . I'm thinking this year to try some long lipped suspending jerk baits and I dont even own one yet. Not to be fashionable but because there are pieces of the puzzle missing and I think this one fits here .
  15. I just avoid that type of stuff and just pitch a Texas rigged worm around visible cover but maybe a tail weighted worm would work .

I only have used the Campark t70 so dont have anything to compare it to . I will say nothing gets by it . The false positives are usually a bird flying by . It takes good night photos and videos . After ten months the night shots quit working , which seems to be common with trail cams but they sent me a new one . In the winter it needs lithium batteries if taking videos because the voltage drops with alkaline and the vids will be short . Warmer months alkaline work fine .It cost 60 dollars and only available on Amazon . . I switch the sd card out weekly .
  17. Remember when Mister twister made spinnerbaits and buzzbaits . I still have a spinnerbait , an unusual one too . It has a three way swivel with two blades side by side . It puts out a lot of vibration . Even though the blades are small it pulls as hard as a number 6 Colorado .
  18. I either have poor bed eyesight or the water is just to dirty to spot them .That being said lizards and jigs are my premier bottom bouncing baits during that time of year .
  19. Ive done crazier things that caught fish . Go for it .
  20. I just glanced at it on Google earth and there is a bass boat every fifty yards .
  21. Get spinnerbaits that you can cast the most accurately . The quieter and more precise you can get them in and around cover the more bass you will catch . For me its usually a half ouncer . Whatever your rod is rated for get the weight in the middle .

Do you know why he suggest brown/amber ? I have bad retinas .
  23. Unless one is fishing it in vegetation or a floating bait which I do not , I dont see where a long leader is needed . It just makes it harder to detect strikes and set the hook . I use a one to two foot leader always .
  24. Most epic trip was to Bull Shoals . I have never fished there before and arrived finding the lake under flood conditions . I had to launch the boat from the road . Thunderstorms roared in every day and drove us off the lake . In between storms we were catching smallmouths 30 foot deep on tubes . No huge fish but a lot of 15+ inchers . It really boosted my confidence , finding good bass under those conditions on a new lake .
  25. I have a new spot I've been planning on fishing every winter for the past ten years. Then fishing season starts I dont go there .
