My bass won't bite!
Are you 100 per cent positive they are bass ?

Rostertails are underrated 100%
Never used a Rooster Tail and lost a few Mepps to snags . Just never got into using in-lines . I have some Blue Foxes , maybe this year I''ll find an area to try them , one void of snags .

What's more versatile: Lipless or Squarebill?
Crankbaiting from shore can get quite expensive .Maybe go with cheaper models or forego crankbaits all together .Pick up some Hot Spots out of the bargain bins . Bass hang out around cover . You have already located it . Work it thoroughly with Texas rigs..

Favorite Dirty Water Spinner Bait ?
This talk of dirty water spinnerbaits gave me the itch to make a new one . It might be a little blade heavy and come in upside down but I separated the blades quite a bit because that is suppose to keep the bait stable and not break the surface . I guess I'll find out . The blade is actually copper , looks gold in the photo and has some plastic melted on the blade , it rubbed off .

Painted kicker blade not spinning?
Really . Must be an optical illusion , I thought they spinned .

New Age Staples
Not new but new to me . Stanley Ribbets . I should have been using these for the last several years after an angling buddy clued me in about them . I used the heck out of them past season .

Water clarity
If I am barely hooking bass , or hooking them in the face , or see bass nipping at the tail of something like a spinnerbait , then I switch colors . Usually too something more natural , harder to see , less bright .

Lures you want to bring back?
I have several of those Hellbenders too . Anybody have a Dalton Special we can trade .

Ice out lures
It doesnt have to be flat side cranks . Round baits with wide wobbles catch them too . Just retrieve very slowly . Parallel cast on steep sunny banks for a chance of catching the biggest girl of the year .

Lures you want to bring back?

Favorite Dirty Water Spinner Bait ?
A white Blakemore spinnerbait with red blades at one time was a local favorite here. I assembled one last year but never got around to using it . I used them back in the 70's but didnt have a ton of success .Caught some with it . I was fishing a club tourney about that time and the guy I was fishing with won it with a chartreuse bait with chartreuse Colorado blades . He culled both days , 10 fish limits and I weighed in three total . I didnt have an all chartreuse bait . The best luck I had with painted blades was a Fleck Weed Wader . It had a grey and white skirt with white Indiana blades . I'm going to assemble one similar the next time I pour .

Bass fishing has passed me up
I still enjoy the heck out of it and will continue to do so . I'm the guy you see with a marker buoy thrown out and when I catch a fish , I often drift away and have to zig zag trying to relocate it .

Bass fishing has passed me up
Todays anglers with their electronics are out of my league .My last fishing trip this past fall I was struggling catching fish . The water was 42 degrees and I caught 1 bass shallow . I went back out on a point where I had gotten skunked earlier and hunkered down . Random casting a Cordell Gay Blade out off the point in 25 foot of water I managed to catch several bass . But I was fishing blind . Todays anglers would have been casting at fish ,not blind like me .I'm afraid bass fishing has passed me up and I'm not dropping a couple of grand for a new trolling motor with spot lock and side image sonar .My wife would shoot me . Anybody else feeling like a dinosaur?

What’s your go to lure for bed/spring fishing first thing in the morning?
I"ve only seen a handful of bed fish in my life and never caught a single one of them . Water is usually to dirty to see them .

Lures you want to bring back?
I bought a bunch of these when they were discontinued . I've had a lot of success on the square bills and the CR14 . They are a Storm design . Look at how the rear hook hanger is positioned . Not on the end but underneath like the Wiggle Wart . That might be why Rapala discontinued them so quickly . It wasnt their own design . Really good baits .

Favorite Dirty Water Spinner Bait ?

Lures you want to bring back?
I still have a few and have caught numerous bass 5 to 8 lbs with them in early prespawn conditions . For some reason they havent worked very well for me at other times . I'd like to see Manns bring back the 6 inch jelly worm . My number 1 bait of all time . ASlso the Rogers Big Jim in the smaller size . My number 1 squarebill ever .

Single or double colorado spinnerbait
Spacing makes a difference on the double blades . Smalljaw is the expert and he explained it to me in the tackle making section . Closer together creates more torque , lift and vibration . Spread them apart and get less lift , more flash and a more stable bait . By spreading them apart the bait can run faster without rolling and not break the surface as easily .

Lures you want to bring back?
?? Do you mean Arbogast ?

When do you take hard baits out of their package?
I usually take them out as soon as I get to the vehicle . Just cant help it .

Must Have Crankbait Colors.
I use a lot of different colors . Besides shad/baitfish , crawfish and sunfish patterns I like the Rapala perch , Rapala foil both gold and silver , the Bomber's with the mirror flash insert and, fire tiger . just to name a few .
