I'm looking for a thin diameter, off shank hook that is strong enough to use in heavy cover . I'm not texposing , I'm burying the hook in the worm and want a hook that comes out fast and not bend . Would consider straight shank also but prefer the offset .

Try not to let the bass see you . Public park surely gets a ton of pressure . Go on windy days , or even night . Stay low , be stealthy and fish for the ones you cant see .

They have a live mix that started last year . No commentary or commercials . I go back and forth between that , their regular live and basstrac .

Theres a few deeper brush-piles that I hit religiously when the water temp in in the 50's .Dont know if they are spawning down there , but they are hanging there .

I dont use weightless soft plastics much but do so in matted vegetation . Looks like a place to use my favorite the Yum Swurm .

I love BASS but that weigh-in was torturous . I finally had to leave and go to the store for some vittles .

My Uncle had a small pond he stocked with channel cat . He gave a Vietnamese family permission to fish it and they seined it empty . LOL

As far as chatterbaits , have yet to catch a bass on one, just havent used them much .I'm going to make a red ,brown and black living rubber skirt and give one a try this spring . I like red cranks at night , never caught much during the day . I like red worms in medium depth water , never shallow . I have caught a few bass with red bladed spinnerbaits . Thats about it with red for me .

Post spawn , big girls can be caught shallow at the mouths of coves , shallow main lake points and any cover between the two , as they move toward summer time structure . A Bomber Long A Minnow or other floating minnow bait can be very productive . Its my favorite time to fish .

I dont even know where all my lures are at . I've been looking for a red Bagley Diving B that I know I have . Watching the Classic I'm trying to round up red lures . Cant find it .

Ha . My uncle tells the story about my dad . Their boat stalled in the channel with a barge coming upstream . My uncle says dad put a rope between his teeth , dove off the front and towed the boat to the bank . He said Dad looked like Tarzan swimming out there .

My earliest bass were with a cane pole , bobber and worm , the ones in my avatar. Then I would catch them occasionally on the Mississippi river , mostly by walking riprap and jigging marabou jigs up and down . After I got my drivers license bass became an obsession . Caught multitudes of them in culverts . I had two milk runs one in Missouri and the other in Illinois. Stopping at culverts on gravel rds that were actually Mississippi river backwaters and protected by levees . A lot of my largest bass ever were caught in those ditches . An example of what I use to pull from those ditches . I caught dozens of them . Theres my 1970 Impala with the giant trunk and my trusty Abu 4600c leaning against it .

The split ring would be placed around the double shanl making it impossible to come off , not to connect the hook to the lure . I have had the double hooks come off several times during a fight .
