  1. The torn up baits on the deck are usually what I use as a trailer .
  2. What time does Live start tomorrow ? Found it 7 30 central . That Bassmaster website is not the easiest to navigate .
  3. Nope , my Dad invented it . LOL Tie a marabou jig under a bobber , cast it out in the swift water below Lock and Dam 21 . Let the turbulence and current do the work and catch white bass all day long .
  4. Those H&h spinners will work good below the dam . Are there any stripers or hybrids there ? They come with a double hook and I have had the hook come off several times battling hard fighting fish . Wrap a bit of wire around the shank to keep it from happening to you .
  5. I think we found the reason you havent caught fish with it .
  6. Touch a toad on the nose with one and it gets stiff as a board for a few minutes .
  7. Just retraced the trip 8.4 one way, 16.8 miles round trip , carrying all my fishing gear on a 20 inch single speed Stingray bike . The kind with the banana seat .
  8. I rode my bike for miles just to catch bullheads . Then throw them in a wet gunny sack and head home , stopping twice to place the sack of fish in water to keep them alive . When I got home I dumped them on the lawn and they would still be alive . I supplied many bullhead suppers that way . I'm going to retrace my tracks just to see how many miles that trip was .
  9. Great lures . You must not be putting it where bass are .1/8 ounce is kind of small . Get a 1/4 ounce and dont be afraid to throw it around wood . Thats where they shine . They go through wood really well .
  10. I was just a toddler and dad set me up with a worm and a bobber on the bank of some Mississippi river back-water . I caught a sunfish . I remember seeing the bright orange color and thought it was a part of the sun . I still visit that place frequently and every once in a while will fish it .
  11. I've never done it but the bank's of Taneycomo below the Table Rock dam is a popular place for trout fishing . If you get no takers I'm sure someone at Bass Pro can steer you in the right direction .
  12. If not targeting cover and structure then its not bass fishing . Fish cover and structure , big bass will come . Theres a lot more skill involved than dumb luck .
  13. I have had a problem with the double hooks coming off on these type spinners , during the fight with large fish .Its happened three or four times . Now I wrap some wire around the shank to ensure they stay on .
  14. Fish cover and structure with lures designed to fish the cover and structure targeted . This will increase quantity and bigger fish will come . The way I see it, chances increase at catching a lunker with every fish caught. The more fish the better the odds . I dont use little dink magnet lures either . Usually med sized lures that perform well with my equipment . Now someone fishing in true giant waters , like WRB , then yeah I would target 15 lb fish . On my waters where 6 lbers are big , then go for numbers and the bigger bass will happen.
  15. I use to use those along rip rap on the Mississippi river . They were cheap enough that it didnt hurt to much to lose a couple . Cast upstream . let it hit bottom , pop it up and retrieve just off the bottom .
  16. I use the Bitsy Bug for both largemouth and especially river smallmouths . I'm not real picky on trailers. Usually some sort of craw or a piece of a stick worm .
  17. ...or a plastic worm a rubber worm .
  18. My dad use to call tributaries " contributaries" .
  19. I fish lakes where the water gets extremely muddy , two inches of visibility . The bass always move shallow because there is zero light penetration after just a few feet . I use to have a light meter on a probe that confirmed this . Bass also wll hang tight to cover . Spinnerbaits are one of the top lures . Bass will not see the lure until its close but they will feel it with the lateral line . Bright colored baits will become visible when bass get close enough . I've had best luck with chartreuse . Colorado blades displace the most water but a willow is not going to go by unnoticed . Those turtle back Oklahoma style blades have worked real well for me .
  20. Structure is the word that causes the most confusion . To some people , like me , structure is the topography of a body of water . To others , even pros , structure also means fish attractants , such as wood . I call anglers that look for fishing spots by watching others , sometimes using binoculars , "Jackalls."
  21. Firetail worms and red in general when it comes to soft plastics fished shallow . Sunfish wont leave them alone . I get good results deep though .
  22. I actually went to Youtube and found a video of a spinnerbait under water . slowed it down to 25 percent ,just to see for myself .
  23. I did the same exact thing .
