  1. I dont know how the rules are but can a contestant receive help from a spectator boat?
  2. Lester Hawk Litner Montgomery Tharp KVD forgot a measuring board and had to ask a spectator boat for one LOL .
  3. I'm in the same boat . i bought some new frogs this winter because i'm lacking there and plan on using some . My local box store had a good clearance sale and i only bought some paddletail swimbaits to use on buzzbaits .
  4. I wear brown 100 per cent of the time .Yes they work in the sun . If you demand the most blockage then get grey .
  5. An uncle and grandpa use to make their own and they let me help. It was good stuff . The ingredients I remember are cheese , Blue Barrel soap , canned dog food and corn syrup . Dont remember the rest . They use to sell it around town .
  6. I've been cutting strips out of a bicycle inner tube . at first I punched holes in them but that is not necessary .
  7. I visit river banks , back waters ... and try to find some dead shad .Just throw them in a bucket . Large shad you can cut the sides off , small shad use them whole . There is always a winter-time shad kill and thats what the catfish are feeding on . Dough bait is more of a warm water option .
  8. I look for current breaks and eddy's then fish small lures very slowly along the bottom . A jig and grub the size of a crappie lure with a bass sized bigger hook works well .Small spinners like Strike King Rocket Shads have worked too .

  10. I have a lot of luck with the Yum Swurm . It is a flat soft plastic so i figure it sort of skims across the top of the stuff easier than others . i dont really know if it works any better than other soft plastics or not but it catches a lot of big bass for me . I rig it with the biggest, heaviest worm hook i have "not an EWG" because when I catch a big bass it comes enveloped in several lbs of vegetation . I just plop it along , pausing in holes and thin spots . Sometimes I can plop it in place and that really gets the big girls angry .
  11. Him and most of the other field qualified last year .
  12. I keep them in the bag they come in or transplant them to zip lock bags . I dont keep them in boxes . I'll stuff the pockets of a tackle organizer with them and throw some in a small gear bag . I even use cloth grocery bags at times . I'm not very organized but I'll find what I want . Sometimes I'll just use the first bag I randomly pull out .
  13. Then there is the pink Rattle Trap .
  14. I fell for them . So gullible .
  15. All right I'll get serious here . The closest thing to a universal lure that catches all species of game fish would be a jig . From tiny panfish jigs to large saltt water jigs they catch about everything that swims .
  16. plastic worm having maximum active and catches bass in each cast .
  17. I have a couple and rarely use them . When I do its in twenty to twenty-five foot of water and I have not been successful with them .Maybe this year I'll connect with some fish .
  18. Last year I picked up several packages of Spro swivels on the cheap . I put some on the Arkie forms available at the big store .Attached it to a DOA short shank jighead with a large Sassy Shad . This should work well fished around Chara algae mats . I may replace some blades too . Have to try it out first and play it by ear .
  19. Sounds a lot like my home lake during the spring . I would start out fishing shallow cover on steep banks . Jigs and spinnerbaits would be the first lures tried and then play it by ear .I like to head up one of the rivers or creeks looking for clearer water . I would actually get on Facebook and ask where the clearest water is .
  20. With todays technology I would like to see them be able to fish until the last minute before they have to head back . Marshall announces its time to go . Maybe put a forty-five minute limit on it so they dont make a hundred mile run and be two hours late . For instance fishing shut off is at three and you have to be back by 3:45 , or some other time .
  21. I have always wanted to try that .One time I put a mullberry on an ultralight and pitched it under an overhanging mullberry tree . That berry did not make it to the bottom before a big old carp had it . Talk about a fight .
