  1. In case you didnt know it the Strike King Midnight Special rattles .
  2. I can only comment on one question . I use a strike King Midnight Special spinnerbait.
  3. The first silent RES i purchased has a loose weight making it a one knocker . It is my favorite one .
  4. What I would really like to do is go to a clear lake and do some of that deep water video game fishing like Chris Zaldain does .See bass on the electronics , drop a lure down and then watch them come up to the lure . That would be neat .
  5. Bill Weildler just caught one . He said it was a 12 incher and threw it in the live-well . The min length is 14 inches . I didnt see him measure it .
  6. I was at wal Mart awhile ago and picked up two Scum frogs . Ill keep an eye out for the Jackall kaera frog's .
  7. This chara is not anchored and comes in easily. I have caught bass up to 7 lbs in it before and I bring them in cocooned in the stuff . Being I'm fishing from a small aluminum boat all the techniques I use are on four or five combos . If I were fishing your stuff I would probably wrap my finger in bowlers tape and switch to braid .
  8. There is a reason . i will never use braid again . I hold the rod in front of the reel with the line between my finger and thumb . Thats the way I have done it for fifty years its a habit and am not going to change now . Braid slices my index finger on a hookset , just like a knife .
  9. I want to fish frogs over Chara algae matts this year and will be using a 7'0" mh action rod spooled with mono . I pull bass from it all the time with other lures on this rod . What frog would excel in getting solid hook ups with this setup ?Perhaps one with slightly smaller hooks , softer body ..?
  10. I'm going to be fishing frogs on chara matts this year and will use an existing rod . I pull bass out of those matts all the time with 7'0" mh rod and 12 lb test so that will be my frog rod . What frog would excel in getting good solid hook penetration with that setup? Frogs with slightly smaller hooks maybe ? I have an old Snag Proof that has worked in the past and just picked up a Booyah Pad Crasher .
  11. Zaldain catching bass 45 foot deep in 60 foot of water using his electronics and seeing the bass eat the lure , I have never done that . Looks likes a blast .
  12. I have no problem with small craft when I'm in my big boat but use common sense . If there is a lot of boat traffic , there are going to be a lot of waves . If I was to take my 22 footer and anchor at the end of a dike on the Mississippi , then a barge comes up-stream and swamps me , well then , that would be poor decision on my part .
  13. There is nothing easier to throw. Cast around and in thick cover where bass like to hang out . They are pretty snag-less , thats what makes them so effective .
  14. I still use blue worms a lot. 8 inch Jelly worm.
  15. I use to fish the 3/8th ounce lures a lot and caught some quality fish with them . I was particularly fond of the crawfish color . They are not nearly as snag-less as a regular spinnerbait and every time I tried replacing a skirt with a soft body the lure ran crooked . I need to experiment and come up with a combination that works consisting of a spinnerbait frame , soft body and blade to get the fish catching ability of the Beetle Spin and snag-less-ness of a fixed arm spinnerbait .
  16. Ribbon tail , j tail, straight tail ... I use the same colors for all of them . Purples , blues , greens , browns , blacks and combinations of them .
  17. When I use to fish tourneys Texas rig lizard's dominated .Nothing else came close . Of course I used them the most . Second and third , there are numerous lures tied .
  18. In Alabama I would say yes .
  19. You could toss a spinnerbait around and over the weeds .
  20. If you are going to fish in cover then they are a must . If snags are not a problem then dont use them .
  21. I like to use a hook with a gap that is twice as wide as the bait .
  22. I have a new warpig too and anxious to see how it falls .
