  1. The jig and pig. I use to fish jigs a lot but for the past half dozen years I have rarely used them . I use a texas rig .
  2. I'd pay twenty dollars to see the guy feeding the bass to wade out there with no pants on .
  3. Pro anglers have a lot of good info but sometimes its just magazine filler . I remember Rick Clunn breaking down a lake on where to fish season to season . I tried and tried his advice to no avail .
  4. Worms , lizards and craws . Usually its just a guess as to which one i choose . My cousin and I won the largest tournament ever held on Mark Twain lake one September . Almost 500 boats . All our fish came on six inch Texas rigged lizard's off of a point in 18 to 20 foot of water . We used purple and electric grape Bass Pro Squirmin Lizards . We just felt lizards did a slightly better job at getting those important three lb tournament fish in the boat than worms .
  5. My best bait and technique has been to fish a black jig with orange pork frog tight to shallow cover . Now that pork frogs are not available substitute with plastic . I'm talking one to three inches visibility .
  6. The original Fatz Gizit .
  7. It will show bass and every other fish . If you're going to delve into structure fishing points , humps .... then you are going to see bass and bait-fish on or near the structure . Pay attention to those fish signals and try to learn from them . I'm not an expert structure fisherman but I do mark schools of bass quite often out on the structure .
  8. There are popular lures that I have done poorly with . I dont use them much . If i would spend the time with them they would be effective, like a chatter-bait .
  9. I use a cheapo Bass pro shops flipping stick and old fiberglass flipping rod . 7'6" use them for carp and catfish .
  10. My dad use to carry a bottle of that . He stuck it on marabou crappie jigs .
  11. I bought a bunch of Terminator skirts on clearance and use them on other spinnerbaits plus hand poured ones .
  12. To me the difference between MLF and BASS is akin to slow pitch softball vs. major league baseball .
  13. I went to Table Rock last fall and tried drop shots for the first time . I used some of those hooks that are attached to a swivel . I lost fish after fish . Only landed a few . I dont know if it was the hook or what .
  14. I'm not very brave when throwing square bills in wood with branches . It seems like I snag up more times than not . I will usually use a spinnerbait in that situation . Now on old wood and stumps , something with no small branches I'll bang a square bill around.
  15. I do to . looks like it has cataracts .
  16. A bass is going to know where a crankbait is no matter what the color .
  17. I have an uncle who always use the lightest weight possible because that is what Bill Dance said to do . I go the other route and used heavier weights . I out-fish him badly .
  18. You might be right but its more fun to have secret colors . I like to use sunfish patterns a lot .
  19. A big part of many peoples fishing is simply making their way down a bank and picking apart cover . Spinnerbaits come through brush extremely well and have a very high hook-up percentage . What is not to like ?
