  1. Big Game on all mine but one . My worm rod gets spooled with 17 lb Trilene xl clear blue fluorescent .
  2. I might be taking a hack saw to some of my rod handles . They make them to long now days . I think if I hacked off a couple of inches , that would help a bunch .
  3. I've been thinking about buying a Balck Max combo myself . The rod feels decent and I hear good things about the reel . Only 70 dollars .
  4. Ok . I'm planning on going tomorrow night at Mark Twain and I'm trying to sharpen those horrible hooks on my vintage wooden Musky Jitterbug . Team Nine and WRB have inspired me and I'm determined to catch one on it this summer .
  5. I would choose saturday and give buzzbaits a heck of a try . Of course I would throw some plastic worms too .
  6. If you make the final cut on the Delta , there is only 4 days until the next event . When is the practice period ?
  7. I only seen it once . Fishing on Mark Twain an old squirrel was trying to kill a young one and it jumped in the lake and swam for his life to some standing timber .
  8. How big ? Musky size ?
  9. I have loved buzz-baits since the first time i threw one . This was a top water lure with snag-less qualities . It can be thrown across lay-downs and not hang up . It covered water fast , caught big fish and has a high hookup percentage . Its not my most used or successful lure but one I try most trips from the spawn to early winter .
  10. Buzzbait is number 1 .Also use Strike King Midnight Special , Texas Rigs and crankbaits . A square-bill Rapala Crankin Rap in red craw has worked good . Basically the same lure categories I use during the day .
  11. What is that? Never mind . I googled it .

The last couple of fishing trips were hampered by mid-back pain . I took Alieve three time to no effect . Its the act of holding the rod away from the body , the same thing happens when washing dishes . For you guys who have this , how do you combat it ? I'm too the point where I'm going to ask the Dr for pain pills .
  13. Its hard to find a compatible fishing partner .I've had people who wanted to stop after an hour . I'm an eight hour guy . I often fish outside the box , trying crazy things that usually dont work . Most people tire of this quickly .
  14. Alone . When I take others I feel pressured to put them on fish , at the same time I dont want to take them to my favorite spots . I took a guy fishing and told him not to show this spot to anyone , he replied "I dont even have a boat , how can I show it to anybody?' Well , someone else took him fishing and he tells him " I know where a good spot is ."
  15. My first big step was learning how to fish a Texas rig . A few years later a major reservoir was created near by and I learned how to fish deep points , road beds.. . In the last half dozen years I started employing a lot more crankbaits , especially the ultra deep divers . It never stops . I feel just as comfortable fishing deep water as shallow water in all seasons .
  16. I'm surprised about the lack of deep diving crankbaits .
  17. I have no problem unless I cast in an unseen tree .
  18. It depends on where they are at . One lake I use to fish a lot , the pads were the best cover on it . Other lakes , nothing .
  19. ...and can you purchase them in bulk .
  20. Texas rig plastic worm Deep diving cranks Lipless cranks Buzzbait Spinnerbait
  21. I have lures that have never been used . One is the Ripplin Redfin . Every time I reach for a floating minnow bait , I overlook it . Had it for 25 years or so .
  22. If I catch a ten lb bass , it will probably be an hour before I make another cast .
  23. A buzzbait like the Cavitron with the stair-step design sits slightly lower in the water . I dont know for sure but it seems to get more hook-ups .
  24. Thats it , Luhr Jensens Herb Dilly . I have one with a smaller blade , I think that is a newer model than I have .
