  1. I've had these Mister Twister lures since the early 80's . The first lures of these kind I ever seen . I also had some cool fluke like by Mister Twister baits that caught the heck out of fish but used them all up . These lures were discontinued but ahead of their time .
  2. Dont forget a pack of lizards or two .
  3. I bought two last year and they were both out of wack . My old ones run fine .
  4. I have some Money Minnows but I want more action when I kill it .
  5. I dont even own a swim jig . I just use what is in my box and those are mostly Arky style . If I need to swim it , no problem . I work my way down a bank I will likely use several different presentations . Pitch it , cast it , swim it , bounce it , kill it ...
  6. Theres a pretty big difference between 10 and 15 foot . I love Norman Deep Little N's at 10 foot but its not going to touch down at 15 . A deeper lure would be needed .
  7. I havent pegged in years . The only time I found it beneficial is when I was fishing fresh brush piles made of cedar trees . That was some difficult fishing .
  8. Beetle spins and the Storm Thin Fin were my first successful bass lures . I had a lot of others lazy Ike , Flatfish , Burke flex Plug , Johnson silver minnow , L&S Jointed Minnow , Jitterbug ,Hula Popper , Pre rigged creme worm but it was the Beetle Spin and Thin Fin that caught most of those early farm pond bass .
  9. Just watched an under-water video and that is exactly what I'm looking for .
  10. My fishing is over for the season and I'm thinking about next year . What would be some good snagless soft swimbaits to fish in the thickest of brush ? I want it to have a lot of thump when I kill it . When the bait falls I want the bass to feel that tail kicking . It could be a paddle tail worm also , it just needs to have a lot of action on the drop .
  11. I'm kind of weird I guess but I dont mind filleting fish and walleye are the easiest and mighty tasty . If walleye were more plentiful here I would target them more than bass . My preferred fish for eating are walleye/sauger , crappie , bluegill and black bass .
  12. Berkely Dredger 17.5 and 14.5 The 14.5 from 10 to about 12 and the 17.5 deeper . They get to these depths fast and stay there long . They will reach advertised depths with 12 lb big Game . I fish stained water and bluegill with a little chartreuse , fire tiger and shads work well .
  13. I am by no means a jerk bait expert , used them very little . Thats being said , there have been two days where the bass were not committing to a shallow crankbait , just slashing at it . I switched to a small X-Rap and that did the trick .
  14. I have bad feet from a falling accident . I walk with a pronounced limp but do not allow it to stop me . I stand up all day when fishing . The best product I have found are the New Balance Motion Control In-soles . They are about thirty dollars a pair on amazon . I wear them 100 per cent of the time . New Balance shoes also seem to fit my feet the best .
  15. It was delicious . First time my son had squirrel . He loved it . Just flour gravy and I used both water and milk .
  16. I grew up in a small town a mile from the Mississippi river . Spent a lot of time in the woods , camping , hunting and fishing . My best friend lived a mile out in the country and that was my second home .
  17. They are in the crock pot . Fried then made some gravy then added some mushrooms and dumped in the slow cooker .
  18. Because worms are that dang good .
  19. Heres a sweet little 22 . A Marlin 99M1 carbine that I bought when I was eighteen , forty-two years ago . The Bunny Slayer . Deadly accurate with CCI Blazers .
  20. I'mfixing squirrel today . I'm going to attempt the way my Mom use to cook them . Some of the best eating I ever had . Fry them . Then make gravy with the drippings , throw squirrel and gravy in a crock pot and cook for several hours . I'm going to add a can of mushrooms .
  21. I'm done too . Been squirrel hunting several times .
  22. I think thats a really cool pattern . Looks like light waves broken up by surface turbulence .
  23. New to me this year was the Berkely Dredger . I caught fish on all five sizes and the deepest was at 22 foot. Thats the deepest a lipped crankbait has caught bass for me . Previously my record was about 17 foot .
  24. I lost a lot of large bass trying to horse them in like I see the pros do . If its a big bass I take it easy with them and land a lot higher percentage .
