  1. I have heard of them but never seen one . I'm a Bomber user and wanted to try one .
  2. I use to have my lure knocker on a marker buoy but there were a lot of times I needed that buoy for marking and then I didnt have a lure knocker available .
  3. I just use a baitcasting reel without the rod . All it does is store the string . Any reel would work .
  4. Thanks for posting . Not only does my back hurt from fishing all day because of holding a rod out in front of me , I also have tendinitis in the elbow from pitching worms . Thats been a lingering pita for several months now .
  5. I cant pop open a beer until a fish is caught . That rule has made me a better angler .
  6. When the fish quit hitting spinnerbaits I usually go with a shad , bluegill or clear/flake skirt and a single small willowleaf .
  7. It wouldnt surprise me if coffee helps . I think Berkely Power Bait and Real Craw both worked .
  8. He also won a BASS event on a crankbait.
  9. Its probably over with for me .When we do have warm weather now its usually pretty windy and I'll be fishing from a jon boat . I'm not fighting it . If I do get a warm , windless day I will go and expect to catch something . They may be deep on a point or shallow , just have to try both .
  10. Your jerkbait box consist of a Bomber Long A Minnow , 2 Smithwick Rouges , 3 Rapala Minnows , 2 Jointed Rapalas and a Rapalla X-Rap . The crankbait box .The blue one looks like a Rebel Double Deep Wee R . There should be a weight in the lip. Below it I dont know . Two slots down looks like a Rebel . The bottom on that side has a lip like a Bagleys . On the other side iit looks like 2 Rapala Shad Raps . Below it looks like a new style Wiggle Wart . below that ? and at the bottom looks like a Rapala Fat Rap .
  11. I didnt list smallmouths earlier. Thees are for river smallies Generic popper Jig n pig tube Strike King Mini Spin Lunker Lure
  12. This . Any monkey can cast and reel . Learn a Texas rig / jig well and everything else will come easy . One of my best techniques is to work a Red Eye shad like a worm in deep water. Because I was already well versed in bottom bouncing there was no learning curve .
  13. I like contrasting colors . Black /blue , black/brown , black/chartreuse ... The Mr Twister twin tail is the first trailer I ever used and still use twin tails a lot . This is a homemade jig that I use to buy by the dozen . Theres only a few left .
  14. I caught fish on jigs before texas rigs . Just fish it like you would a worm and you will catch fish .
  15. I'm just guessing . Jig n pig plastic worm Lunker lure Bomber Fat Free Shad Bomber Long A Minnow
  16. I know they will all work but which of these knives do you think will make the easiest work of squirrels ?
  17. I have one . Message me .
  18. If I'm not getting bit I have a tendency to change lures instead of presentation . Less is sometimes more .
  19. I carry a bag that holds 6 plano boxes and stuff the pockets with soft plastics . Heres what each box holds . 1 . terminal tackle 2 spinnerbaits / buzzbaits 3 topwaters 4 square bills /lipless 5 long bill cranks 6 lures that dont fit the above categories like spoons ...
  20. One day I forgot my soft plastics at home . I dug through my stuff and found a pack of black Fats Gizits .I Texas rigged them and didnt miss my horde of plastics one bit . I carry to much . I could cull out half my lures and catch just as many fish if not more .
  21. The Rapala Crankin Rap is a real good lure . I think they were recently discontinued . If they show up in the clearance bins , grab a few .
  22. I call that type of point a secondary point . It doesnt extend very far . Just a small one in the creek . The large main lake points are simple to find .
  23. These are five foot topographic lines . This is a rare map with lots of detail . I colored it in with hi-liters. 1: is a point . If you look closely there is another small point across the feeder creek . 2: is a small feeder creek . You can see how it is deeper than the surroundings . It's makes a direct path to the main channel . The creek gets squeezed between the two small points . 3; The squiggly lines are standing timber . 4: The main channel . See how 1 , 2 and 3 all congregate at one small spot 10 to 15 foot deep . On this map the topo numbers are feet above sea level . Normal pool is 606 feet above sea level . I colored it in at 605 . So when the map reads 600 that is 6 foot deep at normal pool . 575 is 31 foot deep .
