These are half a Wave Tiki Stick with spinnerbait material for legs , that I called a bug . On a jig or T-rig they catch a lot of fish . There are times though when the panfish wont leave the legs alone and I just have to give up on them .
  2. I like my Manns yellow buoys . Believe me , they are hard to see when I get twenty yards away . Theres been a lot of times when I would zigzag back and forth trying to find it . I think it would be difficult for others to see it unless they are right on it . Especially if they are zooming down the lake . Marker buoys will never be a thing of the past for me . Last year I had one set out . A cast to one side of it caught approximately 60 bass . The other side zero .
  3. Beetle spin , Marabou jig , Jig and Pork frog and Arbogast Mudbugs have all caught big bass for me at this time . Fish in the afternoon on sunny banks slowly has been the key . If the lake has them, steep rocky banks have been best for me .
  4. Me too . I use buy jigs 12 to a card . Those jigs were better than todays jigs because they got just as many bites and were affordable .
  5. Before the jig and pork frog became popoular the jig and eel was widely used . The eel is more worm-like .
  6. I use jig and worms , jigs and lizards whatever . They all work .
  7. The Krocodile spoons are thick and heavy . First thing I thought of when holding it was to bump bottom out on points and casting to schooling fish . Looks like a versatile lure . I remember Stanley Mitchell used them in his Classic victory .
  8. Heres more . Of interest is a Heddon River Runt , a Bill Lewis Minnow bait , Storm Thin fin , A deep diving jointed Rebel Minnow , a Mirro lure and others . Some will be used some wont . That Thin Fin will be back into action for sure .
  9. I have never had any of these spoons before .Two Krocodiles ,a Weber , and a three pack of Aqua . Never heard of the Weber or Aqua . Also a Rapala and Rebel floating minnow and Little George . Some elderly guy I know gave them to me . Those Krokodile Spoons look like quality lures .
  10. They obviously caught fish for you but do they behave different than a standard willow leaf ?
  11. My favorite in no longer made .
  12. I have no trouble throwing lures 3/16th ounce on casting gear . !/8 th ounce is possible but spinning handles them much better .
  13. When I first started texas rigging worms , I didnt own that many . My 6 inch Jelly Worms quickly became 5 inches , then 4 inches . I swear , I must have been the only person fishing worms in this one 6 thousand acre lake . Me and my fishing partner caught thousands of bass on a channel swing with stumps one summer , all on Jelly worms and we always bit them down smaller and smaller . .

Have you ever had the hook come off while fighting a fish? The Strike King Rocket shad uses double hooks and it has happened to me several times .
  15. First , I use to fish tourneys , havent for about ten years . I just spend time on the water . Sometimes just watching my graph , other times actually fishing . People prepare for tournaments differently . I have a Plan A and B .. . My plan A "and there may be more than 1 plan A's ,thats just the way I work, is specific . I might have a key spot or spots . I may have a key pattern or patterns . If plan A fails then I dont panic , I go to plan B . Plan B will be more general , an area and will be selected prior to the tourney . Plan A has failed and now I'm just going to hunker down and fish, not spend time running around in the boat . I'll pick a spot that has a lot of variables in a small section . On a topo map it should have a lot of zigzag lines . Hopefully , fish will be caught and a pattern established . I have no plan C . Once I abandon plan A and Plan B , I am relying on getting lucky which never worked for me .

I interpret blade baits as weighted pieces of metal like the Cordell Gay Blade . I hop them off the bottom , much like a worm .
  17. I've never had any problems with them . I use them mostly along rip rap banks and wing dams .
  18. I do it all the time . 8 inch jelly worms can quickly become a 6 incher . The old Fliptail worms were segmented and I bit them down often .

What type of spoons are you referring to ?
  20. I love carp fishing . Here is my number one method . I chum the area with a can or two of whole kernel corn . I mean spread it out , get those fish eating . I use my bass flipping rods with baitcasters and 15 lb Trilene Big Game and a big heavy one ounce weight , carolina rigged with a 1 to 2 foot leader . I then use a small octopuss hook and add two to three pieces of fat whole kernel corn . I usually use a short cast and put the rods in a holder that will not allow the fish to pull it in . Tighten the string to where there is no slack. Heres what happens. A carp comes up to it and it has already been eating corn . The fish inhales it and feels resistance from the heavy weight and tight line . He freaks and bolts , thus hooking himself in the process . Your pole will lay flat , it looks like your going to lose it . Man thats a lot of fun . I do it a lot in the summer .
  21. Bomber Flat A is my number one lure for fishing the Mississippi river . Theres been days where I caught not only bass but a half dozen other species with it .
  22. Welcome . i'm a retired firefighter also .
  23. Yep . if i dont catch fish , its not because they were not biting , its because I didnt figure it out .
  24. I've never seen those before . I'd rig a worm and swim it through the heaviest cover I could find . Thats what its made for .
