  1. You didnt lose anybody .
  2. I have caught fish dragging them , swimming them , buzzing them and hopping them . The vast majority comes from the lift and drop .
  3. They mimic something alive . The bottom of the waters we fish are full of life . Darters , sculpins , insects ...Bass see something that look alive they eat it .
  4. Cool video . Dragonfly nymphs are bad .
  5. I use clear blue fluorescent for my texas rig and jig fishing . I have no trouble watching the line in those conditions .It disappears quickly in the stained waters I fish .
  6. Ive used jig and dead shad . they were hard to keep on . Didnt catch a bass on it but nailed two nice channel cats .
  7. Sallow lowland in the spring probably means stained to muddy water . I love these places First choice may be a spinnerbait . I like to kill the lure around cover during these conditions . I have some short arms with weed guards that work real well . Its about the only time that I like to add a trailer , even a pork frog . Jig and pig would be rigged up and ready to go too .
  8. I think most of the time it doesnt matter if its a lizard , craw , worm... Lots of times I just grab whatever floats my boat. The big exception is when I'm targeting smallmouths then I almost always choose a craw . The Zoom Lizard is widely available. One thing I like about most lizards is they are smooth and easy to see teeth marks ,. if you have a question whether you had a bite or not . I like to use smooth baits like Zoom Lizards on carolina rigs where it is harder to feel strikes . If I see teeth marks , I know I missed one and will be more ready to set the hook .
  9. I would suggest not using the same thing the other boater is using .I cant answer what that would be , just try to use different things that fit the conditions and strive for accurate cast .One tourney .I won from the back of the boat was with Texas rigs . The guy in front was throwing spinnerbaits and moving quickly . I had to make the cast count and move it through the sticks and lay downs fast then get ready for the next opportunity . It was a two day tourney and I was the leader neither day but had enough at the end .
  10. If its a fairly new lake there mayt be deep bass that have never seen a lure . I would find the longest point on the lake start deep , work my way shallow then up into the nearest cove .
  11. I just picked one up . Havent used it yet . I put on a Rattlin Hot Spot as the main lure . Have you tried a lipless on the boo rig ?
  12. I use a chartreuse Strike King Spin Dance a bunch in spring . They may be discontinued , havent seen any for a few years .
  13. My uncle is that guy . If were fishing deep he wants to fish shallow . If were fishing shallow he wants to fish deep .His favorite saying is "the pros all do " ...and he fishes with the best reels made Zebco 33's .
  14. My facebook page has more metal detecting than fishing .
  15. They dont say Yakima . Thet read made in the USA Lee Sesson Hardwood . they are made out of Jelutong .I picked up 5 plus an old Luck E strike and Hawg Hustler spinnerbait . I have a weakness for discontinued lures . All made in the USA .
  16. A tackle shop I know of has a whole bunch of Lee sesson Flat sided balsa cranks at the old prices . They are four or five bucks a piece . I,ll be driving by there later today. Think i'll stop and pick up a couple .
  17. I just bought one and have not used it yet . My plan is to burn it around standing timber . I like to hear how others use it too .
  18. I use many colors , bluegill imitators work extremely well for me . Spinnerbaits are pretty snagless and work well around heavy cover . They sink and work well at all depths . Just make every cast have a meaning . Cast to cover , parallel a bank , let it sink to a certain depth . As long as each cast has a reason behind it you will pick it up pretty quickly . If your making random cast you will not catch many fish .
  19. i catch big ones at night on points . Its difficult to get them to bite during a hot, sunny , summer day .Man, do I try . I saturate those points down into the thermocline with baits and dont catch them but they are there somewhere . Come midnight , they bite .
  20. I don even know what my personal best is . I have weighed very few bass . I have probably two hundred maybe three hundred six lb plus bass . I had my first confirmed seven lb fish mounted over thirty years ago . I have my personal best listed between 8 and 9 because I just think that a few of those fish has hit 8 lbs .
  21. I know of Dee Thomas and Dave Glebe .
  22. The best of luck too you . I think it would be a blast . Fish with confidence, dont be intimidated and cash some checks .
  23. I like the dog leash idea and am going to get one .
  24. I like those , too .
