  1. The area you circled between the two deep holes , that the first place I noticed .
  2. Congrats on the big bass . I fish by myself most of the time . I have a tiny , flexible and cheap tripod and use the cameras timer . I get good pictures . Heres an example .
  3. Fighting the wind is difficult and there comes a point impossible . Do you use marker buoys ? They make it a little easier .
  4. Theres a lot of variables . If the water raises quickly , lets say five foot and before the raise bass were five foot deep . Theres a good chance those bass are now ten foot deep. Thats what I found numerous times .
  5. I know I have 10,000 hours of fishing in but its not all bass fishing .
  6. I dont know . If I only had green with a chartreuse tail to fish I may catch more fish than using lots of colors or I might not . I sure like to use purples and browns though .
  7. I dont target bedding fish because the waters around here are usually to muddy to see them .The few times I have tried , I havent been very successful . I remember one bass kept taking my soft plastics by the tail and taking them out of the nest and dropping it .I tried several lures for an hour or so and just gave up .
  8. This and failure is a learning experience . Eventually selecting lures for any scenario becomes automatic .
  9. I like to fish them out on the points like a worm or vertically jig them .
  10. I still have some old ones .The chartreuse blue was always a real good fish catcher .
  11. For several years I almost quit using plastic worms and used craws , lizards , creature baits... I dont know what I was thinking . Went back to mostly worms last year and the quantity shot way up .
  12. Mudbugs have been my best producing early spring crankbaits . I would like to see them reintroduced with better hook hangers and hooks . I fish them as slow as I can stand it .
  13. I would hang out with a different crowd .
  14. I lke the Arbogast Mudbug fished as slow as I can stand it .
  15. Texas rigged 6 inch Jelly Worms . They will put bass after bass in the boat and catch the big ones if you get it in front of them .
  16. I think prespawn is the best time to throw spinnerbaits . I like chartreuse with large blades . Find some coves with nice points at the mouth and cover water .

  20. Bassmaster magazine . I read it cover to cover . I went out and did the techniques in it and they worked . and Championship Fishing with Virgil Ward . He was always hopping some kind of lure off the bottom and that influenced me a lot .
  21. A floating minnow is one of my favorite baits for mid spring and later . .
  22. I like them all . The Bayou Boogies work well also .
