  1. Dont know if you have a depth finder or not. I would lose the swivel and the spinnerbait and use various bottom bouncing lures in deep water. In the clear Ozark lakes i have caught fish down to 35 foot on tubes and worms .
  2. That one is a Bomber , I have several old mudbugs that I still use .
  3. Heres my old Bomber . Its a bass catching son of a gun .
  4. These were given to me today . I'm going to use them . I have never fished a HellBender , I have fished an old metal lipped Bomber. I caught a bunch of bass night fishin with that old bomber lure .
  5. I dug up three more . The Dalton Special is one of my favorite topwaters but I dont want to use this one . Hoping some day to find a well used one to fish with .
  6. Cool . I've never used the bagleys .
  7. Cool . I'm always looking for deals. I once bought three Curados $25 bucks each .
  8. Those are the fun days. I use to throw jigs a lot but anymore Texas rigs get thrown over jigs 10 to 1 . The numbers are that much better .
  9. Ive seen this question on here " how to catch fish from the back of the boat ? " Its a good question . So you guys who have won a tourney or finished high from the rear. How did you do it ? I won one club tourney from the back and it was a simple strategy. The guy in front kept trying to force a spinnerbait bite and I just quickly threw a texas Rigged Lizard in the same cover he just fished and put together two nice limits of barely legal fish .. It was a two day event and it went like that both days . I won another club tourney from the back using a big black spinnerbait with a big copper Colorado blade .I was just using something different than what everyone else was using. I caught three four lb bass that day .
  10. I have limited experience with spots because I have to drive so far to catch them. Only fished for them about a dozen times . Six inch Texas rigged jelly Worms are awful good .At Table Rock lake one September day [and this was only one time , I dont know if I could ever repeat it again ] I caught several spots and my pb around 4 lbs by slowly retrieving a Black Pico Pop right under the surface in standing timber . At the correct speed the lure would push a big old bulge in front and delicately wiggle at the same time .
  11. Use it as a learning experience and have fun . I got skunked my first club tourney .
  12. My spooks are not connected with split rings , they are connected with hook hangers. So I just have never changed the hooks .
  13. Tie a good knot and retie often . The two knots I use are the trilene and palomar with the trilene getting most use . Quality equipment doesnt have to mean expensive equipment . I only have so much to spend on fishing so I tend to purchase quality inexpensive gear but not cheap gear.
  14. My favorite prop bait . The discontinued Bomber Prop A . I have a couple used and three in reserve .
  15. I'm done debating . I can give an answer but it would go nowhere.
  16. Yep , they were disposable reels . My dad would buy a case of them at a time .I hated those things . The first spincaster I bought myself was a Zebco 800 a much better reel than a 202 and would outlast several cases of them .
  17. To prove that you are not photographing the same fish over and over . LOL
  18. I like the floating minnow baits with props on them . I bought several Bomber Prop A's when they were discontinued . Bagleys use to put them on the Bang O lures ,they may still make one . I dont know if any makers are manufacturing them today . My single best day of fishing ever was with a Prop A in post spawn conditions . edited. Bagleys spin tail Bang O lures are still available . I saw some on amazon .
  19. Anyhow I presented my case . The jury is still out . LOL
  20. Never will 100 per cent of bass hit and more than 0 percent will . In my experience , large spinnerbaits lose their effectiveness in summer . I still catch them on smaller ones with muted colors and smaller blades. Its not hard to understand. Plus theres a difference using spinnerbaits which are most often fished faster than worms and jigs . I like to burn them to not give bass a good look at them .Its a good technique employed by anglers everywhere . I rented a slip at super clear Table Rock lake. The Aunts creek resort to be exact. There was a keeper bass under the walk way . I tried catching it with a brown Salt Craw and 12 lb test clear line . The fish had zero interest in it. I tied the brown Salt Craw on a spinning outfit with 6 lb test and dropped it down to that fish repeatedly . The bass ignored it. I then took a black marker and colored two inch strips on the line , to break up the outline. This time when I dropped it on the fish it got hit immediately. So at least one time it appeared that line visibility mattered . I camouflage my line a lot when using worms and jigs. Im convinced that it helps put a few extra fish in the boat , I cant prove it does and you cant prove it does not. Trout anglers are convinced line visibility matters but it has zero impact on bass ? I just dont buy that . Surely there comes a time where a bass will refuse a bait because of line visibility . Barge rope , half inch rope , paracord , 100 lb test , 50 lb test ...6 lb test .
  21. TheDevil Horse is popular and inexpensive .
  22. I dont see any Bass anglers using High visibility green line . If line visibility didnt matter , then why not ?
