  1. I use to catch a lot of fish on the rattleless Pico Perch and Bayou Boogies . I havent used them for many years but they caught a lot of fish . I still have a few . . I usually fish lipless baits on deep points. I guess one of the technique I use is called stroking " I didnt know there was a name for the technique " , but anyways when fishing them from a john boat, hits can actually be heard . Rattletraps have worked the best for me when lifting and dropping on points .
  2. I do keep a bar of ivory soap in my truck ,and in my misc bag that I take in boats. Ivory soap floats .
  3. Oh yeah , I had a run in with a bunch of them. When I say them Im talking about tresspassers who litter the place up , park in yards... It got nasty and I think they were later responsible for some vandalism. I scared myself and was thinking of seriously hurting some people. I dont handle confrontation well and have to avoid it .
  4. A little more info on the rod would help. How long is it , what action is it what lb test is it rated for ?
  5. Theres been two days in my life where I was on a pattern of ripping a crankbait. Id swing the lure hard just like I was setting the hook , reel in the slack and repeat. That was tiring . ps . the lure was a Bomber Flat A and I was catching suspended fish .
  6. I just wipe them off with lake water . I am picky on being quiet and invisible but I dont pay any attention to my hand odor .
  7. Missouri . Second is a tie by the eight states that touch Missouri .
  8. Some of the waters I fish are badly silted in. Jigs work fine .
  9. I like to twitch it as fast as I can but still keep it on top . This works well on points. Also I will fish it super slow and other times fish it fast like a crankbait .Ive cranked it as fast as I could before and caught big fish off of stumps .
  10. I would change it up a lot.
  11. A Bomber Long A minnow is at its best during post spawn , at least for me it is .
  12. Use it like a wake bait , chug it , twitch it .
  13. Large waves crashing against the shore creates a feeding opportunity for game fish. I found this out as a boy when barges would go and down the Mississippi river. All kinds of lures work .
  14. Early one winter I was catching bass on buzzbaits while it was snowing . Come to find out , that is not uncommon but it surprised me .
  15. Have any of you ever seen the weighted hook inside ? Ive never done it but if you wear one out , I think you could remove the weighted hook add a spring keeper and have a bottom weighted snagless soft plastic rig .
  16. Use slow baits that move a lot of water like a jig and pig or large colorado blade spinnerbait . Ive fished in water like that a lot.
  17. You could use lifesavers for added weight .
  18. I fish jigs and Texas rigs that way. I usually dont let them sit , as soon as they hit bottom I'm moving it .
  19. The spinnerbaits are pretty good , just not very durable. I had one that didnt make it through a day of fishing before the wire broke. It caught a whole bunch of fish though .
  20. Thoughts on fishing something like a downed tree or brush pile. Do you like to go straight to the heart or work the outside first ?
  21. One of the things I do in summer is fish deep flats . I watch the depth finder for where the thermocline is , the most fish activity and just fish that depth with a variety of baits . Night fishing those flats produce big fish shallow , so I back off and hunt deep during the day .
  22. Way to go Andrew. ^^ Bass fishing is fun because it s a challenge .
  23. Hank Parker cast his shadow and a caught a fish on it .
  24. Hank parker was once penalized for getting to the weigh in early.
