Disgusted!
I have no problem with keeping bass to eat. I do have a problem with the game hogs who fill their freezers full of fillets . There is a possession limit too. I dont fillet 5 and 7 lb bass but will keep the two and three ponders that are over the 15 inch minimum limit . Id like to see slot limits in more fisheries.

How Long Will Spike It Markers Last ?
I never dyed baits , before but Bought a 4 pack of Spike It markers and been fooling around with them. I really like the way I can change a single tone worm into a mottled lifelike looking thing . It may not help me catch more fish but they sure look more like a living creature to me. Anyway , they are on clearance cheap . Will they stay good for several years or go bad ?

Best Soft Plastic Craw?
I love fishing craws and never had a handsdown favorite . I already mentioned a couple but another one that worked has real well was the inexpensive Renegade Wal Mart brand . The Riverside Big Claw was another one. I still have several packs of them. Great lures .

Fishing Through Weeds?
A local pond use to be covered in a thick slop. No one else even bothered to fish it. It had a green , slimy moss mixed in with what I call duckweed. I caught a whole bunch of big bass in that slop. I used a Riverside Top Gun no weight and a large flipping hook. This picture is not a rigged bait , the lure is just laying flat on top of the hook. The Top gun is flat and easily slid across the mats of moss. Strikes were explosive and lots of misses but very exciting. I used 15 lb Trilene Big Game . I would catch a big bass and pull in several lbs of moss on every fish. Yum is now making this bait but I dont recall the new name it goes by.

Mark Twain Lake
If the water is fairly clear , you can head up any of the creeks or rivers and fish timbered banks and coves. Its just a guessing game as to which one to fish. If the water is mud colored finding the clearest water is the key. It might be close to the dam or up the rivers. At times I have seen the Dry Fork off Lick Creek clear when others are muddy. At times it is just as muddy. The bass here are just like everywhere and hit the same lures. In the spring I like Strike King Spin Dance spinnerbaits , and short arm single spins. Sometimes I really get them with Bomber Long A Minnows. Jigs , texas rigs , shallow diving cranks ... If you want to try crappie just look at where the other boats are fishing . Dry fork is a good crappie cove . If they are shallow you can catch a quick limit on beetle Spins. I like to search with beetle spins just like i'm bass fishing .

Rattles On Football Jigs
While snorkeling in a clear creek , I would tap my fingernail against my watch or tap two rocks together and the bass always , initially , swam over to check the sounds out. That doesnt prove that rattles on jigs work but I tend to think they will help get the fishes attention .

Clearwater Soft Plastic Colors?
I pretty much use the same colors in both waters. A couple of more I would add are motor oil and brown / orange .

Shortening Rod Handles
Modern casting rod handles are just too long for my liking. They get in the way . I would like them to be two or three inches shorter. Im going to alter an older lightning rod first. Just planning to clamp it down and take a hacksaw to it. I dont have a plan for the end cap yet. If any of you have done this , how did you fix the end cap ?

Bedbugz

Buzzbait Question
I use 1/2 ounce Lunker Lures a bunch. When I get a smooth cast in , they fly like an arrow .

How Do You Fish Windy Days?
Early spring here in northern Missouri , I would try to avoid real windy conditions . I probably wouldnt even go out . In the summer , wind really gets the fish biting. Problem is sometimes it is impossible to fish it. It was so windy one day { sustained 40 mph } that I just bank fished on a rocky bank where the waves were violently crashing on . I used half a Wave Tiki stick on a jighead and fished it do nothing style. Caught all kinds of fish. largemouth bass , white bass , crappie, Drum , Channel cats and a big ole flathead.

What's Your Style?
Stealth. I try hard to not be detected. On quiet water , I sneak up on fish . On noisy waters I often fish in the busiest areas .
