  1. IMO the 852 works better for 3/8.
  2. St Croix Avid 6'8" medium light. Great rod
  3. I own several St Croix rods primarily Avid Legend Tournaments. I love them all. That being said IMO in not sure the Legend Tournaments are that much better than the Avids. The fact ornaments are stiffer for the same action and I think have a similar weight as the Avids.
  4. I exclusively use a polomar knot. I don't have confidence an a clinch knot with any Fluro or Fluro coated line. I just feel the Fluro line coating is too slick to hold that type of knot.
  5. I've used it exclusively for several years. I fish Rayovac and a solo series bass tourney circuit and I've had no issues. Because I fish a lot of clear water I use 12 lb on mt bait casters, except 10 lb for my crank baits. I also use 8lb on my drop shot and finesse spinning rigs. Again, I've never had an issue.
  6. Yes they would be open to you joining. living in Omaha is not a requirement. The have a website and I would suggest you contact them.
  7. Yes. I would recommend the Omaha Bass Anglers. They are a great group and have a tradition of helping one onother become a better bass fisherman
  8. Just a thought. The previous owner may have cut the power chord to the charger. If so, I would suggest getting a new charger that is automatic, charges at a rate of 10 amps per bank, and with the same number of banks as the number of batteries you have.
  9. Ugly experience with Tackle Warehouse: I ordered a new reel from Tackle Warehouse and after paying for it using my paypal account, I was notified that I owed them $11.00 and that I was to go to my paypal account and send them the money. I shared with them that I was hesitant to do that for two reasons. 1. I paid the amount owed at the time of checkout. 2. I did not feel comfortable sending them more funds and not having any assurance that it would get credited correctly. The end result. The customer service representative hung up on me. I ended up calling back and cancelling the order. I'm not sure this is my definition of "customer service"
  10. I own several of the reels and for the price I really love the,
  11. Alright, call me cheap, but I have a pair of Dickies insulated bib coveralls and I just wear my lightweight vortex rain gear over them. It works great.
  12. The starter should run you in the neighborhood of $125.00,but then you need to add labor
  13. Silly question...what pound of flurries were you using?. Most Rees have a max drag of around 14 pounds. If your Fluor line is heavier than your max drag you really should be alright.
  14. Remember one important thing....no matter what anyone tells you or says.... IT IS YOU THAT GIVE THOSE WORDS CREDIBILITY. So thing less what others might say and be yourself. If you show respect, and thing more of the other person than yourself, you will do fine. I would suggest you start a conversation with the lady and get to know her. In time telling ger sae is a beautiful lady in every aspect will be more meaningful to her and gain her respect....
  15. B&R Outlaw rod MH. It's a great rod, sensitive, light, and costs around $149.00
  16. Actually clear silicone adhesive works great. You just need to be careful to not have any bubbles under the transducer. Once you set the transducer place a brick or something wavy on it until it cures. Removing it in the future is a breeze.
  17. Just a thought, I can appreciate wanting a low profile, but I would suggest you look at the new curado I. Since you might want a slower sPeed, it comes in a 5.5:1 that works creat for crank baits. I also like the tatulas. Both are under $200,
  18. Monsignor lake
  19. Monsignor in Marysville is a good lake. There are some excellent lakes north of KC on the Kansas side as well
  20. Have you given any thought to the Diawa tatula?
  21. Each reel has a retrival speed and distance for each turn of the reel handle. Based on the capacity of the reel, I also use an inexpensive mono as a backing on the reel. So for examplemy reel holds 120yards of 12lb test and ads a reel speed of 6.3:1 and a retrival distance of 24 in per turn here is how I proceed if I want 100yds of fluro on my reel: I calculate the amount on mono I'm going to put on my reel baby the numbers of turns of my reel angle will equal 20 yes. In this case (36 in X 20 yds= the number of inces of mono I need I this case that equals 720 inches and since each turn of my reel handle equals 24 inches I will need to crank the reel handle 30 times to get 30 yds of my mono backing on my reel. After I do that I tie my fluro on using a blood knot an proceed filling my reel This works with any pound test and you do not need to be that accurate but it will save you significantly money wise by not wasting expensive line.
  22. I have two and I love them. They keep your rods secure and tangle free.
  23. Definitely it is. Boca's ceramic bearings improve the performance on any reel.
  24. I've used one for tournament fishing for the last three years. From my perspective, it does help but I find that it's impact in tough fishing conditions, may be overstated.
  25. Okay I may cause some responses here, but let me suggest looking at this objectively instead of through opinion. Most suspending jerk baits suspend head down. Floating jerk baits rise when stopped. The bait action you create when you jerk the bait is having the bait dark and dig into the water downward with the lip of the bait dictating the amount of downward movement. So, if this is the case, to maximize the action of the bait, you want the line lower than the bait itself. A fluro line sense it sinks would be better than mono in this instance.
