  1. I too like p-line fluroclear in the tint green color. I fine it gas good abrasion resistance is strong and ismsignifancantly less expensive than pure flurocarbon. I use to use pure fluro (Seagar, trilene. Etc.) but I see no noticeable difference with the fluroclear
  2. micahthorlawson is absolutely correct. That is the typical early spring pattern. The only thing I would add is try and find the stained water. Stained water warms sooner than clear and the warmer water is key. Just a couple of degrees can sometime really make a difference
  3. I own 10 JM reels, and several Diawa Zillion, a few Shimaono currado's, and in my opinion, the JM cannot be beat. I would not purchase any other than a JM. It has the dual brake system and it casts a mile. I have one of the Basspro carbonlite reels, but honestly, I like the JM better. You can't beat a 10+ bearing reel for the money.
  4. I would suggest you look at the St Croix avid series, or the Shimano series
  5. I have it loaded on my IPAD, it's fine and I use it when I'm looking for possible areas to fish prior to a tourney. I don't think it's as good as what I have on my locator, but it does have its uses.
  6. 100 HP motor seems small. I think that boat should take a 150. Just a thought to consider. Also Javalin boats went bankrupt in 2001.

I'd drop shot. Slowly work a green pumpkin finesse worm back to you.
  8. They are an excellent bait. They have an great action and their wide body does make them very buoyant.
  9. For what it's worth I use fluoro on everything but top water. I may use braid periodically if I'm deep carolina fishing
  10. Evinrude did make a a 150 motor that was caborated in the 90's. If its not a Fichte then my guess is that might be it. I would have preferred fuel injected, but if the boat is in that good of shape it may be worth it. Worse case is that you may need to overall or rep,ace the motor in the next few years and depending on the model a 150 may be fairly reasonable. A new Yamaha should run you about 12K
  11. I have 12 Johnny Morris reels and I would not trade them for anything. I started out with the extreme which in its own right is a good real, but the JM is a dual breaking system reel. I have several Diawa Zillions which are very good reels, but I don't think they are any better the the JM, and they are a $100.00 more.
  12. I have to agree with Shimano. I prefer the cumara, but I understand they are no longer making it. If you can spend a little more money I'd go with an Avid from St. Croix, or I'd look at a Razr rod. They are around $160.00 but well worth it
  13. Bass Pro's Johnny Morris reels are in that price range, have a dual breaking system, 10 ball bearings. For the price they cannot be beat. I have 12 of them, and 8 Diawa Zillion's. The Johnny Morris casts better.
  14. I came across a gentleman that made plastic inserts to replace the rubber grommets and it works great and now will last me indefinately.
  15. Certainly reading and doing your homework is key, but you might do some research and see if ther is a local bass club in your area. Most bass clubs welcome new fishermen and yo can learn a lot.
  16. I have two structure scan units on my boat. One mounted on the transom and one on my trolling motor. Would not want to fish without them.
  17. You are correct. I like the lock n stow because it's a lot easier to use, more convenient, and actually provides a wider variety of adjusting how high you keep the lower unit. I would not have anything else.
  18. I live in Warrensburg. If you'd like to chat just let me know. I find that After 20 years of bass fishing I still learn from others. Feel free to email me at NOV232002@msn..
  19. Toi find i add the scent after it cools the plastic and it may bubble. Since you will have to reheat the mixture it really is the way to go.
  20. It all depends on how aggressive the fish have been. If the fish have been aggressive then I'd throw the spinnerbait again. If not, I'd go to a Senko, or split shot worm.
  21. Got fishing brain, if you have a chance I would love to ask you some questions about Ft Gibson Lake. You can email me at nov232002@msn.com....
  22. How ever you mount it, you need to make sure water and moisture does not get into any hole on our boat. You can go to a hardware store and get a pastic plug that you can run your cables through... Just a thought.
  23. I forgot to share with you, add the scent before you heat the plastersol.....
  24. Yes, I add scents. After you have your plastersol in the measuring cup just pour your scent in. You can purchase scents commercially, or make your own.
  25. I have a Fortrex and I use a trolling motor strap. Actually there's no down side of using one only an upside.
