  1. I pretty much use tungsten for everything minus split shots and mojo rigs.
  2. I would get some of Sieberts punch weights for the milfoil so you can pretty much have a totally weedless jig. I would also recommend some brush jigs for the docks and laydowns. I would also experiment with different jig sizes and trailers for different rates of fall. Some days the fish just want something slow and subtle and other days you can get good reaction strikes with a heavier jig that rockets to bottom. You can't go wrong with a black/blue, green pumpkin, or brown jig. Those colors will catch fish everywhere. One of my personal favorites from Siebert is from the storm series. I've probably boated more fish with that jig than all my others combined.
  3. I could get on board with that NY Strip and Lobster. Also, I wish Texas had Yuengling beer, good stuff.
  4. This right here. My next choice would be a Chronarch 50e though.
  5. I'll use 1/4oz. up to 1oz. The lake I mainly fish has bullrush/tules and eurasian watermilfoil (pretty much hydrilla) so mainly I'm pitching it with a pegged 1oz. When I'm fishing docks, I'll throw 1/4 to 1/2oz. Try using them where ever you would use a fighting frog, you might be pleasantly surprised. This is the 5" version by the way.
  6. I've never fished a grass pig but, I've fished cane thumpers which are very similar. More often than not I find myself flipping/pitching/punching them rather than swimming them.
  7. Yes, when I upgraded my electronics I was talked into adding a lowrance sonic hub. I don't regret it one bit. I don't always use it, but I definitely enjoy it when I do.
  8. 7' m/f spinning 7'3" mh/f casting 7'6" h/f casting
  9. Snag proof's phat frog and spro's bronzeye frog walk really well.
  10. Check out a dobyns champion 736c for a frog rod.
  11. Why switch if what you are using is working and you like them?
  12. It's the same way here in Texas.
  13. I use 6'9" and 7'3" rods around docks and light cover and 7'6" and 7'8" rods into heavy cover. I'm 5'8" and don't have any problems with longer rods as far as flipping and pitching go.
  14. The two frogs I mainly throw are the phat frog and poppin' phattie by snag proof. Excellent baits, the phat frog walks really well and you can even get the poppin' phattie to walk if you want. I'll usually trim about a 1/4" off one of the legs two help it walk better. Like DelcoSol said, its nice they don't fill up with water.
  15. Never used an Okuma baitcast reel but the spinners I have used were good. You can get a helios for $139.99 shipped on ebay right now.
  16. This is great, I needed a good laugh.
  17. x2, they are killer around grass lines and they don't pick up as much gunk as splitshots.

I just ordered some SO punch rigs but as of right now, my punch/flip&pitch setups consist of a couple of 7'6" h/f rods that I personally like for 1oz. and under weights and a couple of 7'8" h/f rods for 1.5oz weights with 7-1 reels with 65# power pro. I like the River2Sea trash bomb weights, sixth sense punch stops, paycheck baits punch skirts, and gamakatsu heavy cover flipping hooks with reaction innovations sweet beaver 4.20's. Missile baits dbomb's and big bite yodaddy and yomammas work well also, but whatever flipping bait you like will work.
  19. I like the gamakatsu weedless finesse hooks. I've had really good success with a smaller #2 hook. You really don't have to set the hook, just a light sweeping turn to the side and start reeling and that light wire hook penetrates really easily. Also, with it being smaller, you don't pick up as much gunk from the bottom. At least this has been my experience.
  20. I use a m/f 7' rod and a 2500 spinning reel with 10# power pro with a 8# fluoro leader. Zoom original trickworms work well on shakey heads as well as big bite squirrel tail. Be sure to get the original trickworm as they make a super salty also which will sink.
  21. They make a great product, pretty much all of my soft plastics I fish now are big bite baits. My favorite by far is the YoDaddy. I'm ready for their new craw to hit the market after icast.
  22. I caught a nice 5lber the other day that was like that. Seemed to be a healthy spawned out female that was blind in her right eye. I also caught this little guy on a 4" senko that had a fluke with a 4/0 ewg attached to about 10' of line stuck in his throat.
  23. I've always done well in ponds with white spinnerbaits.
  24. Siebert Outdoors makes a compact series that looks pretty sweet in a 3/8oz, only $5.50 too.
  25. Lamiglas has an Excel series that is orange.
