  1. I came and spent the weekend on lake intending to fish as much as possible. The lake of course is over run with pleasure crafters. We took the boats out and looked at a few fishing spots but I spent most of the weekend sipping cold ones watching football and the race. Its starting to feel like fall here so the jet skis and ski boats will be put away for the year soon. I'll start fishing the lake again then.
  2. I was kidding about them being Gods gift but they are hard to put down. I can't stop eating them until they are gone. I live in the peanut capital though.
  3. I could mail you some if I need to Clayton. They sell cans of boiled peanuts in gas stations down here. I don't know about NY.
  4. I haven't but I hear its the next best thing to a bag of boiled peanuts. I worked with a guy from the Chi for awhile and the pizza is all he ever talked about.
  5. My only rule is: There are no rules! Do what you want to do,be your self. I fish for fun. If I was a tournament guy I would be different, but I like for the people who go with me to have a good time. Drink a beer if you want, talk on the phone all day, or toss out a tight line for catfish off the back of the boat if that's your thing. If your doing something I don't agree with or aggravates me you won't be invited back.
  6. Boiled peanuts are God's gift to man Clayton. They are like Pringles, once you pop the fun don't stop.
  7. On the bright side They seem to be getting bigger.
  8. How far south are pike be found?
  9. Someone could take that idea and run with it. Replicas would make awesome key chains.
  10. He got me too Delco. I was just browsing TW, then I saw the labor day sale and had to buy something. I spent like 37 bucks, then I saw that if you spend $50 shipping is free. I picked out a few more things to get over the $50 mark. By this time I was so pumped up about the stuff I ordered that I went ahead and got the overnight shipping so I could have it before the weekend. It's a vicious cycle. Lol.
  11. I agree with Flyfisher. When I see a topic you started I gotta check it out, your comments on other people's posts are usually entertaining as well. Some people just don't know when to quit. It sounds to me like you gave the guy every opportunity to walk away without incident. I bet he will think twice before getting in the next guys face.
  12. Did it float? Were you able to retrieve it?
  13. So your saying stay shallow?
  14. I did some homework the primary food source is threadfin and gizzard shad. I'll have to learn more about structure and cover out on the water. I've seen alot of pictures of guys holding up fish with jigs in their mouth though so I'm not sure if there is a population of craw dads or not.
  15. I'm planning to go out looking for fish in open water for the first time this weekend. I'll be on Lake Eufaula(In Alabama)Saturday-Monday. I have an idea of what to look for as far as structure and cover are concerned. I have a topo map of the lake and I plan to scout out several spots to try this week. My question is what are a couple of techniques my dad and I can start out with. I want to focus on a searching technique and a technique for when we find fish. I don't want to over complicate things, being deep water beginners and all. I'm thinking DD cranks and jig with trailers or maybe lipless cranks and drop shots. Maybe a Carolina rig would be our best bet. I could really use some input from you guys. Thanks in advance. Oh yea I plan to fish in water 30'> and the water is usually pretty stained. About 3-4 feet of visibility.
  16. That is insane. I would like to land a marlin, but not be landed on by a marlin
  17. He is hooked already. Sounds like he will have plenty of stuff for you guys to try when you get home.
  18. My buddy and I were fishing recently. He casted a rooster tail out into some junk and lost it. I casted unto the area a few times and ended up snagging his rooster tail on mine. I handed it to him, cast out again, and lost mine. There was an awkward moment where he wasn't sure whether he should get me the lure I had retrieved or not. I wouldn't take it. The way I see it is what's yours is yours and what's mine is mine.
  19. What is a split shot?
  20. Thanks for all the helpful tips and advice guys I'm going to use the cold turkey method with cinnamon tooth picks as a pacifier. I smoked a couple this morning so tomorrow will have to count as day 1 of being cigarette free.
  21. I was wondering if you guys have any tips for quitting smoking cigarettes? I'm smoking the last one I have now and I'd like to get on the quitting train 100%. It's easy to say I want to quit but sticking to my guns about it is easier said than done. My wife doesn't smoke so when I'm at home it is pretty easy. When I'm around other smokers is when things get tough. I guess its the accessibility to cigarettes. Any tips you guys could pass on would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.
  22. Me too. The song is alright but kind of repetitive
  23. The first video was okay. I don't know what was going on in the second. How deep are ya? Is a very common question at my lake.
  24. Yepp that's a beaut. Congrats on the new PB.
  25. For me 50% of my passion for fishing is being able to get away, clear my mind, and have some Me time. I live in an ocean of estrogen though so any time I can get away from the house it's an "out". Lol.
