Just bought this over the weekend. Haven't gotten it wet yet, but man am I ready.

I bought the perception sport caster 12.5. I like it so I pulled the trigger. What do you guys think of it? I haven't tried it out yet, but I'm going to try to get on the water tomorrow. Since I've never kayaked before I'm going to take it to a pond . I haven't decided if I'm going to bring my fishing gear with me or not yet. I may just take the kayak, paddle, and pfd. I want to be comfortable on it before I load all my gear onto it. Thanks for all of the input guys. I'll post some pics tomorrow.

I am thinking making my own tackle would be an interesting hobby. Where do you start? Like where do you buy the supplies? Where can I find more information on the subject? Is it cost efficient or do you usually have more in your custom baits than they would cost at the store? If you guys could give me a direction to head in on this I would surely appreciate it. I would be interested in making jigs,shakey heads,spinnerbaits, and possibly pouring some soft plastics. Thanks in advance for any help.

Which do you guys would think would better suit a paddling beginner? I have my eye on the Field and Stream Eagle Talon and the Guide 119. I like them both and they both fit well into my budget I'm just not sure which one would suit me better. The canoe seems safe and more spacious, but I think the kayak would be more exciting and comes ready to fish (rod holders already in place) Its hard to judge from the outside looking in. I plan to get some sitting time in on both before the final decision, but I was hoping some of you experienced paddlers could kick some advice my way. Thanks in advance.

That sounds pretty horrible bro. I saw a guy fillet some catfish and then throw them in a hole and bury them. The fish were still alive filleted out when he was throwing dirt on them. I figure that is the absolute least humane way of going about it. That same guy tried to tell me fish don't feel pain. What do you guys think?

I bought a package of rage tails with a scent inside. It was on clearance at Dick's for like $3 bucks. I threw it in my buggy without looking at it, I saw rage tail and jumped on it. When I got home I figured out it was for saltwater. I don't remember exactly what they are but I know they are clear with silver glitter inside with a yellow tail. Maybe 4 inches long. Do you guys think they will work in fresh water? I rarely fish saltwater or I would save them, but right now they are just collecting dust.
