South Fla you like that Fat Tire? A friend of mine brought over a box of different microbrews and I couldn't drink any of them except the Fat Tire. That stuff is pretty good. I'm not doing any cooking this year, only eating. Happy Thanksgiving.

What do you do to get to those big girls hiding out in deeper water, or are they even hiding out in deeper water this time of year? I went to a pond this Saturday and last and I caught about ten fish total. I'm not mad about that it sure beats a skunk but they were all about 1 1/2 pound or less and were all caught about twenty feet or less from shore. I'm wondering are there big girls in this pond Im exploring and if there are some big fish where are they hiding. Or is my presentation off. I caught them all on a Zoom trick worm t rigged weightless, junebug. I didn't bother changing because I was catching them at a pace I was happy with.

I'm still letting it grow. Its been roughly a month and a half, give or take. My wife seems to like it and it is growing on me.Lol. I'll post a before and after pic sometime this weekend. I'll probably let it keep going after November.

Yea man sorry to hear about your situation. I hope things get better for you soon. Starting your own thing is definitely an idea. It is my dream but I currently work for The Man. Another thought is look into the businesses that you bought tools and supplies from as a tradesman. My boss built metal building for most of his life and when his body couldn't take it anymore he had to quit. He found a job working at the shop he bought his sheet metal and red iron from. It was an easy transition because he was familiar with everything we sell and knows how these things are applied in the field. Even though you can't do your trade anymore you can still use your knowledge of the trade to find a job related to your field that isn't so physically demanding. Like sales or distribution. It's just a thought. Good luck buddy.

I just wanted to say a quick thank you to everyone who has helped me directly and to all the people who post great information on here for us new guys. I have gone from not knowing where to start to catching a few fish on beginners luck to a long streak of skunks to catching fish on a regular basis. I owe it all to you all here at Bass Resource. I dont have any bass fishing buddies so everything I have learned has come from you all. I could shout some people out but I would surely miss several people who have provided invaluable information. I know we see these threads once every couple of months and I thought about just expanding on one of those but , I wanted to say personally that I truly appreciate everything I have learned here from you guys. I am seeing progress every time I got out. Now it is time to start focusing on quality over quantity. Thanks again guys. Tight lines.

The Academy where I live at just opened this year. I passed by the grand opening saw the fish tanks and did a U turn. My wife was like Those are for the kids! She wouldn't let me ask if I could get one cast. Lol.

Hi guys my name is Caylub and I am addicted to soft plastics. The Zoom trick worms are my thing at the moment. I went fishing a few times ago and couldn't get a bite to save my life. Tied on a June bug trick worm weightless and weedless. Got one then a couple more. The next time I went still had it tied on a rod and pulled in a few more fish. I went out yesterday and caught all 5 of my fish on that setup, just slow rolling it back to me with a few random pauses and hops. Its definitely my confidence bait at the moment but, I am noticing all of the fish I have caught in this have been the same size. About 1 lb. That's fishing 3 different ponds btw.

I'm glad you made it out of there too. That is a scary situation. I had a similar situation in a flooded creek without my pfd on. Lesson learned. Did you lose all the gear you had with you?

I'm kind of in the same boat as you. My family is big on catfishing. They go out catch a mess of fish and have a fish fry. They know I prefer bass fishing but when I come back without a stringer they all talk major smack. Why spend the money? Why waste the time? They don't understand. I C & R because I'm fishing for sport not food and because I'm lazy. I just tried LMB for the first time this year and it was delicious. I still haven't kept any and prepared them myself but the next time I want some fish I won't hesitate to keep a few bass. Tight Lines.

Yall should make a YouTube channel "Hand fishing with Dsidle and Ak". I have had to bring one in by hand before but to my disappointment it was a catfish. My rods get broken in transport more than by fish but if I break it fishing then going shopping is justifiable to my wife. Lol.
