Best Fluoro (For Braid Guy)
I'm a braid guy and I hated invizx. It was very soft and handled great but it felt like I was fishing with a rubber band. I currently have spooled yozuri hybrid. I haven't actually fished it yet, but it feels much better casting in the yard and catching some grass patches and weeds ha ha.

Question For T U F - L I N E
Cuz it's Tuf? Ha ha. I've read that it seems/is a larger diameter than other braids for the same lb rating, so maybe that's why. I've never had any digging in issues with 30# spiderwire except the one time I tried to throw an A rig with it. That didn't work out well.

Revo Sx Gen 3
Mine wasn't as smooth as I expected out of the box. I cleaned/relubed it and now it's smooth as can be. I think the lighter frame/reel makes it feel a little loose or grindy. It still doesn't "feel" as smooth as my carbon black, which is significantly heavier, but it really is. What it boils down to, I think, is due to their weight, they don't feel as solid (but really are just as smooth or better).

Why Did You Buy That Lure?
I like to read forums and just see what's regularly recommended. I'm a sucker for crankbaits though, even though I rarely use them. If it looks cool I buy it. I should just display them rather then stick them in a 3700 box.

$100+ Spinning Reels
I got one sitting in my garage. I just haven't been able to find any plutonium since the Cold War ended.

Gen 3 Revo Sx Or Johnny Morris Sig Series?
Maybe I don't know what I'm doing centrifugal brakes, but I prefer mags only.

Gen 3 Revo Sx Or Johnny Morris Sig Series?
I have an sx and a carbon black reel. I'm not sure what the difference is between the signature series and the carbon black besides looks. I've "super tuned" my carbon black and as much as I hate to admit it, it feels just as good, if not better, than the Revo. Before the tuning there was no comparison. Other than the weight difference, it's a tough call.

No worries. I can see that Shimano vs the world on this site is very similar to Apple vs the world on tech sites. lol.

$100+ Spinning Reels
This is where my question comes in. I can see/feel a difference in baitcasters as the price changes all day. I'm failing to see much difference in spinning reels, on average, as the price increases. So I wonder, if I were to drop $150 on a spinning reel, am I really getting a $150 reel? Even if I am getting a $150 reel (for whatever makes it a $150 reel), is it really worth the extra $75-100, is a little extra smoothness really worth an extra $100?

$100+ Spinning Reels
Thanks guys. I think I will buy a more expensive reel. I do like to buy things only once. Plus I'd like it to last long enough to give to my boys when the time comes. So I plan on using this reel for dropshotting/finesse fishing. What's the better size to go with 20/2500 or 30/3500? It will go on a 7'ish med fast rod (unless up suggest something else).

$100+ Spinning Reels
So I went to my local Bass Pro Shops today to play with some rods and such to get ready for the upcoming sale. I had the guy get me a Revo sx spinning reel out of the glass case as I've been looking to get a spinning reel. I must say it was very nice. Now my question is, besides it being smooth, what makes a spinning reel worth $160 (or more than $100)? I played with several sub-$100 reels and there were a couple that I would say were almost as smooth, one of which I probably wouldn't be able to notice the difference between it and the Sx. This particular reel was around $70. The other one was $60. They both weigh approximately the same as the Revo. I'm no pro, and I'm having trouble swallowing more than $100 for a spinning reel.

I've been thinking about taking advantage of this. Can someone compare rage rods to carbonlites?

Old 2013 Thread!!! Bass Pro Pro Qualifiers For $65 With Reel Trade In. Old 2013 Thread!!!
This would explain why I didn't feel the hype with the pq combo reel I bought. I guess I can get some new bearings.

I don't think the bionic plus rod in the sale is the same as the white bionic blade rod. I think you're basically getting the reel for regular price and a crappy rod for free. It's like the pro qualifier combo they had for their Black Friday sale for $70. The reel itself is usually on sale for $80. The rod can't be that great. Unles they combo it up with a cheaper version of the reel, which could be a possibility.

Carbonlite Vs Johnny Morris Sig Ii
It's not. I played with both in the store and the carbonlite is noticeably lighter. Heck it's noticeably lighter than about every rod in the store when you spend some time trying them out. I can't tell you if it's any lighter than the carbon black. To me they feel about the same, but I've never had them side by side.

Spiderwire Invisabraid?
I've used it for a while. Switched to power pro, then to SW stealth (didn't care for it at all), SW ultimate braid. I haven't tried 832 yet, but hopefully will this year. The invisibraid has been my favorite so far. I haven't had any problems with it breaking, I did with power pro. It is a little stiff new, but softens up over time. I've been able to cast it the best/farthest out of the rest and it "feels" smoother flowing through the guides. Ultimate braid seems pretty good too, but I haven't actually used it much. My only complaint really is that it looks dirty and brown after a while. Not much of an issue though really.

Carbonlite Vs Johnny Morris Sig Ii
I haven't used the signature rod, but I do have a carbon black rod which the blank appears very similar to the signature with a different handle and guides. I also have a carbonlite. I've had the CB for 2 years now and it has been a great rod. I'm fairly new to this and haven't used many rods so I can't give you a comparison, and I've only fished my CL a couple times. It is noticeably heavier than the carbonlite. I have pulled up some logs and some decent sized catfish with my CB that I wouldn't feel comfortable doing with my carbonlite. I'm sure that has a lot to do with the weight difference. If the weight difference doesn't bother you I think you'd be happy with either rod. Hope this helps.

How Many Rightys Fish Lefty?
Fortunately for me, I'm ambidextrous, which is "both handed" for anyone who doesn't know. I naturally want to cast left handed and crank right handed. Works out well for me fishing. Not so much for baseball though.

My New Spinner Bait Wallet
I'll keep that in mind, thanks. Unfortunately, I don't have the opportunity to leave things in a boat, but I do generally keep my stuff in my car during the summer.

My New Spinner Bait Wallet
I was doing some cleaning and I came across an old cd wallet. It was on its way to the trash when it stopped me and suggested that it may be used for something else. So I thought maybe I could keep my spinnerbaits in it. So far it seems to work well. I guess I'll wait til spring to see how well it actually works.

Minnow From Kansas City
Thank you everyone. Chips, I never saw anything besides dolphins and flying fish, but I didn't get in the water during swim calls. Something about manning 50 cals for protection while swimming told me I should go ahead and pass.
