  1. The estimates above are fair. 5+ for Smallies. 7+ for a LMB sounds about right. If you are truly proud of a catch that might be another reason. Like winning a tourney with a lunker bass.
  2. My Gander Mountain was fully stocked with DT-6's in Demon and they were on sale. They were lucky I didn't buy the whole lot and sell them on e-bay ... LOL
  3. Small swimbaits and Rage Menace are my 2 favorites.
  4. all of the above ... This is where experimentation on that given day comes in.
  5. Bill Dance talked about this on his last show ... Here is a quote from his site ... He is not the first to refer to the barometric pressure as a possible connection to this saying. Jimmy Houston's book also stated something similar.
  6. Windy days generally means to me waves, current and a lot of movement overall. So as mentioned above I follow natures recommendation and power fish with spinnerbaits, Red Eye Shads, Cranks, swimbaits etc. I have also been successful with things like tubes and small finesse swimbaits as long as I have a heavier weight. In those cases it is still moving at a good clip. The last thing I try to do is any slow, sit on the spot type of fishing.
  7. The name says it all. I give this guy a ton of credit for posting this video! Enjoy.
  8. Do you have an idea as to length or girth? If so you can get a decent estimate using the calculator. https://www.bassresource.com/bassfishing/fishcalculator.html You can always fudge your numbers in your favor ... LOL
  9. Rapsody Rods. why ... they produce a good product and they are local. HQ'd out of Troy, NY which is literally 10 minutes from me.
  10. Now you did it ... that d**n Britney Spears song is stuck in my head ...
  11. I prefer weightless. As a co-angler in tournaments there are times when we are moving at a faster clip. In those cases I can put a flick shake on and get the wacky worm down there faster. Helps me keep pace with the boater and get some sick strikes when this is on.
  12. Seaguar invizx (6 or 8 lb). FWIW - I use braid with leaders instead.
  13. Something else I have never seen before. They genuinely look like they are playing with one another.
  14. I have a friend who swears that a white rod is invisible to the fish and that is why Duckett and Veritas rods are what he uses. I highly doubt the color of your jacket will make a difference. IMHO safety first.
  15. I never heard of Kings Home before watching the classic. His heartfelt acknowledgement of them in the audience made me choke up. FWIW - For the price of one DT-6 you can donate to that cause. Or you can do both ... LOL!
  16. Ever release a fish and have it swim right back to you??? Check out this video. Looks like a trout of some sort running away from a Pike. https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=425945737508043
  17. ... and they come in so many colors! Next time I am in Wally World I may need to pick up one.
  18. Nice ... now I just need to sneak into my 6 year olds room and take her scissors. Daddy needs them.
  19. I hope they fished around it first. Awesome pics!
  20. The Menace and Cut-R are two of my favorites!
  21. After all that I have already spent my money on I am NOW heading to BassPro on Saturday for their spring classic. I do not have a single "need" but yet I am going there and I am guaranteed to buy something. LOL
  22. With the way I drive the ball no amount of spotters would save me! LOL
  23. Tired Kanzan and did not like it at 10-15lb test. I bought the smackdown and spooled it on two of my spinning setups (15lb). Let's see how this works out.
  24. I recently purchased the new Ride 115x. I am interested in the groups opinion on what fishfinder you use on your kayak if any and why.
  25. Happens to me before every tournament. Believe it or not I just try to settle into bed even earlier than I normally would to let as many of those thoughts to run through my head as possible. I even go as far as to visualizing me using the rigs I have setup for the next morning. I find that this helps settle me down a bit and I eventually fall asleep. I still wake up before my alarm but at least I am a bit more rested than normal. One epic fail is to try and tire yourself to sleep. This will work to get you to crash but waking up is nearly impossible.
