  1. I didn't stand in mine yet. The water was too d**n cold and I didn't want to get soaked. LOL
  2. FYI ... the link you put there references a link on your computer. When you go to post you will see a link for More Reply Options. When you click it it will add some more features. Namely the ability to Attach Files. Hope this helps.
  3. It's up now. http://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-forums/topic/136143-maiden-voyage-on-my-new-ride-115x/
  4. I picked up my new Ride 115x and took it for a spin on a nearby lake. It was cold (48 degrees) and a little windy so there was a constant chop on the water. The results speak for themselves ... one in the 2lb class and the other I weighed in at 4.8lbs (funky eye). Some initial observations about the Ride 115x 1 - It is extremely stable. With the chop and wind I wasn't sure what to expect. Within moments of paddling away I was extremely comfortable. So comfortable in fact that I was able to focus on fishing and not falling out. I bought the raised seat so this was a bit of a concern for me. 2 - It is not a bullet in the water but it definitely gets me around. I was able to paddle at a decent speed to get to my spots. 3 - Adjustable seat is a big bonus! - I didn't realize you can adjust the seat while within the boat. I started off too far back and dragged the boat around. Once I found "center" I was cruising around like a champ! 4 - Fishfinder console - There was another post out there about the fishfinder console and I thought I would address it. #1 - I can see how one can say it is too far away. Even at the most forward position I would have some problems reaching it if I mounted it on top like people seem to show on the videos. However mounting it with a ram mount right off the ball and it will be right in front of me. Even mounting it in the lower portion would be in relatively close position. Both minor concessions I am willing to give. 5 - Stable even side saddle. When I went to leave I side saddled the kayak to get out and it held my big butt up. Felt like i was getting off of a comfortable couch. 6 - Extremely comfortable - I purchased the raised seat for comfort. The adjustable back and seat are amazing. The only thing which pulled me off the water was the fact that I couldn't feel my hands anymore. Only one trip and you can already tell I am smitten with this Yak! Now it's time for the accessories. LOL
  5. I was really referring to all the rigging which comes with the Ride. Recessed track on sides and back. Ball mount in the middle Obviously the fishfinder console in the middle. It preps me for everything. I picked it up yesterday and fished with it for a few hours. Pics coming tonight. Let's just say the maiden voyage was a success. Love my new ride!
  6. Does your wife have a hobby or passion which drives her. If so help nurture that sometimes. I discovered fishing after marrying my wife. I also helped her discover photography. Now we share our stories with one another. On occasion when I am fishing and she is taking pics alongside me are priceless.
  7. I was about to buy a Lowrance 4 Elite for my Yak when I saw they released the new model with chirp technology. Any value in chirp for a Yak over traditional? Not sure if I should wait. Thoughts?
  8. I don't worry about one handed vs two handed. If I get it to my target I am good to go.
  9. People watch the show for the angler at the front of the boat. As others have said I guarantee they are instructed to keep a low profile. I would suspect there are quiet periods where the marshalls chat and maybe joke around with the angler but it doesn't make it to the cut (tv or extended).
  10. To me they serve 2 different purposes. I generally use tubes as a bottom bait. Dragging it or slowly reeling it across the bottom. Maybe hopping it from time to time. When I want to cover more water I use a grub. Both rock!
  11. The only 2 piece I own stays in my card for those "Emergency Bassin' moments". Otherwise 1 piece for sure! Note: I have two 3-piece rods for when I travel.
  12. x2 on this .... What kind of structure/cover are you fishing it around? Maybe it is getting jacked up a bit and you didn't know it. You need to check your line after every catch or every 10-15 casts. Besides this I would consider trying 8lb test and see if your catch percentage remains the same. Worst case as J Fracho said ... retie, retie, retie. Good luck
  13. Nice! Finally winter is over ... I think!
  14. More luck this past weekend from the bank ... http://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-forums/topic/135609-mega-strike-weekend/
  15. How often were you checking your line? I fish some bodies of water which includes locks with several feet between me and the water. In both cases 12 - 15lb has been fine.
  16. I don't mind either however I tend to use EWG almost exclusively. 1/0 - 5/0
  17. Very nice Shakey Head! Fish practically hooked itself. No kidding ...
  18. Currently my all time favorite lure is a Finesse Worm. Any green pumpkin-ish color. Prefer it on a Mojo Rig but it works well on a drop shot, a shakey head, split shot. You name it. Just flat out works for me.
  19. I did ... I really liked the idea of the single/double seat option but didn't like the tracking options which were not there. The 115x was the full fishing package for me in one purchase. The overriding factor was the center console though.
  20. LOL ... when I fish with my daughter I don't plan to be out there for more than 30 minutes MAX. She "likes" to fish but her attention span is definitely not there.
  21. I use 8lb Invizx FC on 15lb Smackdown. Works great.
  22. I hope you all had a happy Easter Weekend. I along with all the family fun I was able to get out a few hours on Saturday and Sunday. Ended up with 5 LMB, 4 SMB and one nice Walleye. Largest fish was the 3.48 SMB. Not too bad for a few hour run each day. Kudos to Megastrikes Finesse Worm and new 3" MegaBug. They were just on those baits. One of the pics below also shows the new Siebert Outdoors shakey head jig. Some very sharp hooks and compliment the MegaBug perfectly.
  23. Just a trailer hook and skirts trimmed just so.
  24. Necessary ... no. But it looks so freakin' cool.
  25. As much as I would LOVE to go too!
