  1. I have a small bag where I throw this, pliers, scissors and my plastics. The senko is one I won't leave home without.
  2. Have 2 styles ... one is a finesse barrell jig (look like tiny barrels as opposed to footballs) and the other is a grass jig which serves as a swim jig, grass jig and I can throw them into brush with little issues.
  3. Great suggestions ... I like the Zara Spook and Popper idea. I had to add my mojo rig stuff in there. Keep the ideas coming.
  4. This season began with a goal to learn the drop shot. I ended up focusing on the mojo rig because of the conditions I fished most often. Next is all about the jig ... namely those for flipping, pitching and swimming in and around grass.
  5. Hoping to have a little fun with the group here ... I came across this small DeWalt box and immediately thought it would make a good case for when I travel. I would throw it into my checked baggage and it won't crack like some of the other plastic cases have in the past. On the left is a small frog, Inline Spinner, 1/4oz Lipless Cranks, and KVD 1.0 Squarebills On the right is 3/0 straight shank hooks, shakey heads, drop shot weight, drop shot hooks, wacky hooks, finesse jigs, and weights for T-Rig and Split Shot. I travel with a 6'6" MH F Spinning setup with braid. I also carry a small spool of 8lb FC line for a leader. When I travel I generally end up bank fishing so keep that in mind with your choices. As you can see there is some space for more. What else would you put in here?
  6. Mojo rig. My go-to this year.
  7. Welcome from a fellow New Yorker!
  8. Learned something new today ... Ignore my post.
  9. I thought that is what a drift sock was for. To slow down your drift in moving waters.

  11. The only other suggestion I can add is to consider adding a drift sock to slow your drift.
  12. I fished a tournament with strong current. I ended up upsizing my weight to 1/2 oz and tried to cast ahead of the current. It was very hard to feel bottom and I only had marginal success using the drop shot. Others had better success with reaction baits like a crankbait in these situations. Would love to hear how others would use a drop shot in these conditions.
  13. Soft plastics are my nemesis ... Always seem to find a reason to find something different to try.
  14. One amazing game! So much for the Manning - Manning Superbowl at MetLife that I predicted at the beginning of the year! My Giants aren't holding up their part of the bargain. LOL
  15. In Tournaments its about the cast I am on or the next one. I try hard not to stray but it happens. Fun fishing it can vary. Sometimes absolutely nothing at all.
  16. Who said anything about sneaking out? That's a whole other subject.

I was skeptical so I bought a pack for my lipless CBs. Found my hookup % go up so I decided to do the same for my 1.5s.
  18. If you plan enough to bring your gear when you travel you can plan to get a license too. No excuse. I use the opportunity to visit a BassPro in the area. If you are truly pressed for time then buy it before the trip online.
  19. Had this happen to me in Cali. Bought a license for 3 days and I spent way more time trying to find a place than fishing. Sucks but it happens.
  20. I travel a ton for work and bring my travel stuff with me when I have the potential to fish. I WISH the licenses were just $10 for a day. In some states the non resident rates are double or triple that. It does get expensive but I do it. Caught some bass in Dallas these past few days!
  21. I have a friend who swears by spinning gear only. He does everything with it so there is no reason to switch if you don't want to. I enjoy using both and IMO it makes power fishing much more efficient.
  22. All other sites do not compare to this one. Thanks Glenn for all that you do!
  23. x2 on fishing the weeds. Baby Brush Hogs and weedless Wacky Senkos.
  24. Just discovered the new Old Towne Predator. Anyone get a chance to ride one of these?
