Absolutely no doubt he will. I used to just go with my buddy. I had a tackle bag full of lures and 5 combos. I bought a boat and now I have a boat full of lures and 13 combos that grow by the day it seems. But it sure is fun!

Ever since I bought my boat I have been buying this and buying that to get it set up how I wanted it. To save space I have been trying to consolidate my tackle and organize things to the best of my ability. Lately I have been looking at lure holders for jigs and the like and they seem to want too much for them in my opinion. I made a couple sketches and went to home depot to get some supplies. I bought an 8' stick of black aluminum 1"x 1" outside corner molding, a few packs of #8 x 1/2" metal screws and some black screw caps. I bought a few other things I needed but all this cost me about $20. I got home and it was already getting a little bit dark but I decided I could maybe get one done. I laid my metal out and marked all my cuts and holes. Got busy working and in about 20 min I had made a simple yet effective lure holder. Not the fanciest thing in the world for sure but I figure I can make about 6 or 7 more this size. The one thing I might have done different was just used the silver aluminum instead of the black because the black scratches pretty easy. I am sure most of you guys have done similar but I figured I would share just in case someone was thinking of doing something like this.

I have thrown a POP Max on a Scorpion 70 with 40 lb Sufix 832 and it was about as much as I would want to do with it. I'm not a world class caster like some of the guys on here who could obviously spool it, but I would say it is good enough to throw most baits. I prefer the 70 size reels for pitching to cover or making short casts to specific targets.

For pitching to brush or bombing swim baits? Gonna spool it up with 30lb braid, 12lb mono or 20lb fluoro?

Sorry, yes it was through ebay. I am assuming this seller is a Shimano dealer as all their other listings (not just Shimano) are marked MSRP. However, I just sent a message through the "contact seller" button and asked. I really had to ask around to get the best deal. I would rather not give this particular sellers name because if everyone runs there asking them then they may not give it. Just do the leg work and you can find people willing to make deals. It helps to look at how much product they have listed and how many sales they have along with their feedback.

Ha! I just sent my wife a couple pictures. One was Jacob Wheeler in his tackle compartment. She makes fun of me because I have a label maker and I label everything (not just my tackle, but a lot of things in the house). I told her the best fishermen in the world use them as well. My second pic was of Thrift's front deck, I also told her the best fishermen in the world need a setup for every situation. Edit* Her response: Well, he's getting paid to catch fish......You barely even catch any, much less getting paid.....You should just stick with what you have now till you get better I really love her

I ordered one (Scorpion MGL) for $155 about 3 weeks ago from a different site. Not sure what the current exchange rate is currently, but at $155 that's a tough reel to beat. I can't check it right now, the site is blocked at work.
