  1. Red Crawdad, just a guess btw
  2. Yes, but those aren't facts! Just like when our local meteorologists "expect" a tornado outbreak. Everyone freaks out and schools are canceled and the elderly spend the day in their tornado shelter. It's a media tactic to put fear in people, they live for it. Ever watch a news broadcast that is full of feel good stories? No, it's always about crime, car wrecks, stock market crash, etc.
  3. Another vote for a MH fast in a 6'10
  4. That is the fear mongering part.
  5. My son just attended a state conference in Tulsa yesterday where he won 2nd place in the state in web site design (he's not athletic, more techie lol) and he qualified for Nationals in Washington DC in May, certainly hope it isn't canceled in fear that someone's grandma in Nevada may get the coronas. Daughters softball tournament for this weekend was just canceled as well. I told my wife that bass don't carry it so I was going to quarantine myself at the lake.
  6. Excellent write up and my Minn Kota Terrova has very similar traits about it that I too like and dislike, same as you do. I still wish I had went with the Ultrex (and I still may) but so far I can't complain too much.
  7. Maybe I am looking at something different, but I see a TON of options for chrome baits out there.
  8. 30 years ago this would have just been the "super flu" and everyone would have went on about their business. Now with everyone glued to their computer, phone, etc. the media has the ability to put the fear of god in everyone and it seems to be working. I find it laughable at best at the cancellations of concerts, sporting events, etc. We aren't talking about the black plague here, just a type of flu. As mentioned earlier in the thread, there have been many of these in recent years, but with the world we live in, people flip out because of the misinformation being spread on the internet. BTW, they let Magic Johnson play in the 1992 NBA All-Star game after testing positive for HIV and now they are suspending an entire season because of an upper respiratory infection. We have certainly gone backwards in the last 30 years that is for sure.
  9. @Jim Sutter you are going to be like me. You will have a box full of pretty 110's and reach down and grab that one with a chipped finish and hook rash every time because you know it catches fish. LOL
  10. Pop Max, White Python if you are only getting one color
  11. I like to fish a squarebill over or around grass or on the edge of a grass line. A MH rod makes it easier for me to control the bait with the rod and keep it where I want it (on top of or the edge of the grass). I will fish a M diver over rock or a sandy bottom and I want the bait to work the rod more as opposed to the rod working the bait. If I am digging into the bottom or bouncing off of rock I want the bait to make more natural movements as opposed to me having to forcefully rip the bait through the grass like I have to do with a squarebill. Also, once you have hooked into grass with a M rod it seems as though it is very difficult for me to free it from the grass.
  12. I am admittedly partial to the Zodias line, especially when it comes to moving baits. One of the first Zodias rods I owned was the 6'10 MH. I had 3, the 6'10 MH, a 7'2 MH and a 7'2 H. I used the two 7'2 rods for my texas rigging and jig work and the 6'10 got a lot of duty on moving baits. I threw lipless, squarebills, spinnerbaits, chatterbaits and jerkbaits all on it with 14 lb Sunline Super Natural. IMO it is a very versatile rod that can handle a number of techniques and do them very well.
  13. Will do. I couldn't decide on that or the 7'2 H for a bottom contact rod. I have the PO in the 6'11 M+ that I currently use for 3/16 and a 6'8 MH Expride that I use for 3/8. I am going to try this with 1/4 and see how I like it. Might end up switching it and the Expride.
  14. Poison Adrena 7'3 MH, going to put 40lb Sufix 832 on and use it for 1/4 oz Texas Rigs
  15. Nice! Thanks! Now I really can't wait to get mine. The rod I ordered will be here tomorrow. Sure will look good once it's mounted up.
  16. Let's see a pic or two. I haven't even heard of anyone getting them yet and you claim to have one and leave us hanging without a single picture.
  17. And he more than likely puts a new 75 yards on every tourney (or more often). He doesn't need them to last a season so he isn't worried about changing lures and what not.
  18. Even more money if you did a thousand reels. I doubt he is doing 20 reels, sounds more like a couple to me. Anyone doing 20 reels is probably buying bulk spools anyway. Kind of like my buddy who I went with the other day and he got hung up with braid and had to cut it. Cut off about 40 yards and only had 35 left because he tried to save a little and split a 150 yard spool between 2 reels. That reel was out of commission the rest of the day, luckily I have plenty and let him use one.
  19. Burn me at the stake if you will, but Sniper is about .10 cents a yard. I wouldn't try to save $7 to "maybe" have enough line. I would just put 100 yards on two spools and be sure I have enough. But I also fill the spool with straight braid and fluoro, so maybe I am just dumb.
  20. There are literally hundreds of different combinations you could go with. You will get a ton of different opinions. My suggestion is to use the search function and you could literally read for hours upon hours of content over this exact same topic.
  21. Yep, 6'10 MH Zodias if we are talking a 1/2 oz. When I started deciding what to throw my baits on I used them all with different baits and came up with the following for cranks. Squarebill/lipless 6'10 MH Zodias, Med divers 6'10 M Zodias, Deep divers 7' M Curado glass, Jerkbaits 6'9 M Intenza. If I am fishing a bank in say 3-8 fow and not around grass I will throw the lipless and a shallow runners (6th sense crush, SPRO lil John SD)on the 6'9 M Intenza.
  22. I love the Zodias line, but I havent used a Zodias in glass. I have the 7' M glass Curado and it is a beast at throwing deep divers, it has a lot of backbone but also has great action.
  23. I have the Zodias in 6'10 ML, 6'10 M & 6'10 MH. I have never actually tried a squarebill on the ML, I actually prefer the MH to the M throw them on. I actually have a Poison Adrena that is a 6'11 M+ that I have thought might be perfect. The only reason I haven't tried it on that rod yet is it has 40lb braid on it. I have only used the ML for shakey head and drop shot as it also has braid on it, but in 20lb. I may just do a reel swap and see what I think, although I think it might be too much for the rod in grass, which is why I like the MH as it seems to pull away from the grass compared to the M when I tried it. I use the M for medium divers when throwing them in open water or near rock/dirt bottom.
  24. It's called the BPT.
