  1. Fletcher Shryock makes it 7 over 7lb.
  2. Can't believe KVD has blanked thus far.
  3. Great read! Congratulations young man! Keep it up and good luck to you!!!
  4. Okay, man. You just seem to be one to give a lot of information based off very little experience. I have caught more big bass on a mepps and an h&h spinner bait than you have ever seen in your life. Not trying to dog you, but you need to have experience before you start telling people how it is.
  5. Have you ever heard of BFS? OP, bass will hit lures that small. There have been a TON of big bass caught on a Mepps inline spinner. I caught a bunch of big bass when I was young on them. Cast and retrieve. ScottF has it right. So much misinformation already in this thread.
  6. If I had a panic box that I went to when I was trying to put a fish in the boat, I would start with it.
  7. Welp, there it is, it is indeed a fact that the SLX casts farther. Wait a minute, no, no, no, the K casts farther. I never said anything bad about the SLX, I simply said that because one person said it casts farther doesn't make it true. I bet they are AMAZING reels. In fact, it if didn't say SLX down the side in blue I would probably own a few.
  8. That's awesome. Glad you got a response.
  9. About 5 FOW. Water temp was 57. Caught on a spinnerbait.
  10. Caught this one today at a small lake near Pauls Valley, Longmire lake.
  11. Caught today at about 2:10 in about 5 fow on a Greenfish tackle HD spinnerbait in Sungill. 8 lb 2 oz which ties my PB and is my PB from a lake.
  12. Well, it was a tough day. We fished a local lake that you have to have a permit to fish. There was no one to be found at the lake so we had to drive 30 min to the closest Wal-Mart to get one. You can only guess how that went. We finally got on the water about 1:15. We couldn't get the anchor to hold good on the main lake points because of the wind. Hit some secondary points and caught a few. We fished till about 4:30 and called it a day. Only ended up catching 4, but when you can land one like this it is all worth it. Caught her at about 2:10 in about 5 FOW on a Greenfish HD spinnerbait in sungill. She weighed 8 lb 2 oz which ties my PB and is my PB from a lake. I am still kicking myself for not getting her length and girth as I now think I would like to have a replica. I was just trying to get her weighed, get pics, and get her back in the water. Oh well, maybe I can get a good idea if I decide to do one since I do know what she weighed. Tried to take some good pics of the fish and not make her look bigger than she is.
  13. Lol, and he acted like his back was broke. Dude is a tool. I also like how he was "fatigued" and couldn't make a good cast. GREAT angler, just a weird dude.
  14. Thanks guys. There is a lot of standing timber in this lake, tying off is an option as well.
  15. So, my buddies TM took a dump last weekend while we were fishing. Thought maybe a battery, No. Thought a switch in the pedal, No. Still haven't got it going. Not looking for fixes. We still plan to fish tomorrow. Gonna stay more local though in case we get frustrated. Any suggestions? He has an anchor so I told him we could go float the banks and anchor on points. I guess what I worry about is getting hung up. I like to throw a jerkbait and a lipless and I am not afraid to throw it near cover. If I get hung up we can't just troll over and get it. Should I avoid any technique where I may get hung up. Just stick with a spinnerbait, t-rig, drop shot etc.? Not sure how to attack this.
  16. That combo should fit your needs well. In fact, it sounds like a great deal.
  17. Must be true then. I'm sure there was a scientific process that went into such a statement.
  18. Broken Bow, Sardis, McGee Creek and Eufaula should be prime right now. My fishing partners TM took a dump so we can't go tomorrow, but if it's up by next weekend we will be on McGee or Eufaula.
  19. Sometimes I do good to grab the biggest fish in the livewell.
  20. I won't spoil it since I am sure some people have not watched it yet, but this was one of the better events in my opinion. Not sure why Ike acts like such an idiot, but he almost makes it unwatchable for me. Every fish he catches is a GIANT. Twice he said "It's 5 pounds" one of them was 3.1 and the other was 2.14. Makes him look like a fool. He's a GREAT angler but acts like someone who has never caught a fish. On the other hand, Mark Davis acts like he is about to fall asleep all the time LOL
  21. I bet it's a GIANT, I mean a GIANT BOX, FIVE POUND BOX, FIVE POUNDER!!!!!! Oh, it's not as big as I thought. Three pounds one oz, Mike.
  22. Here's the full schedule for dates, but not locations.
  23. I can't figure them out on a spinnerbait on a large body of water. For some reason, I can catch them in ponds and smaller reservoirs on a spinnerbait, but cannot make it happen on large bodies of water.
  24. Yea, okay. I won't argue with you though and make this go off topic.
